PARISH FELLOWSHIP HOUROur Parish Fellowship Hour, which follows Divine Liturgy

each week in the Yegavian Hall, is a wonderful opportunity for parishioners to meet, greet and enjoy one another’s company. Truly one of the most important aspects of our community life, it’s more than a time to enjoy coffee, tea and refreshments.

We’ve always relied on parishioners to host the Parish Fellowship Hour, for which we are all grateful. In that tradition, we ask that any individual, couple, family or group of families to come forward and pledge their support in hosting Fellowship Hour on either a happy occasion or in memory of a loved one.

PASTORAL COMMUNIQUE To Parents of Youth Ages 8 to 16

Regarding Western Diocese Summer CampFebruary 15, 2015

The Youth Without Church, have no Future….The Church Without Youth. has no Future

Dear Parents: Please be aware that registration for the 2015 Western Diocese

Summer Camp (Hye Camp), begins February 15. Inasmuch as all four weeks of the program will be booked, I highly recommend that you register your children as soon as possible, by logging on to the Camp website www.hyecamp.com

Please note the weeks:Week I July 12-18 (Fr. Sarkis will be the Chaplain and instructor) Week II July 19-25Week III July 26 to Aug 1 (Fr. Sarkis will be present a few days as instructor) Week IV Aug 2 to 8

The program caters to campers (age 8 to 16). Seventeen year olds may apply as C.I.T.s (Counselors in Training). Those over eighteen should apply as Counselors and staff.

The program, now in its fifty-first year, will be held at the Western Diocese owned and operated Archbishop Vatche Hovsepian Summer Camp, located on the outskirts of Sequoia National Park.

The well-balanced program includes morning classes in Armenian Culture, Bible Study and Armenian Music, morning and evening worship (on the level of young children). Afternoons are dedicated to sports, arts & crafts and canoeing or swimming in one of the two lakes Each evening the campers will enjoy either campfire activities, a themed party, dance or the annual talent show.

Importantly, it has become somewhat of a tradition since my arrival as pastor of St. Gregory, to make Week I of Camp known as the Pasadena Week. This makes it ideal for first-time campers who might otherwise feel somewhat intimidated.

Parents may apply as well, for positions such as camp nurse or doctor, sports or kitchen staff.
