Support those in need in your community by submitting your artwork and written submissions.
The Delta Firefighters will donate $10.00 to the Food Security Program for every submission. Up to a maximum of $10,000.00

Supporting The Delta School District Food Security Program
Partnership between the Delta Firefighters and the Delta School District
May 7 - June 1, 2020

Although schools are closed for in-class instruction, the Delta School District is helping to ensure students continue to have access to food by providing over 125 families with
food hampers each week. The Delta Firefighters are joining the cause by donating money for every student’s submission to the “Creative Students Community Initiative”.

FORMAT
Students Up To 9 years Old
● Can download one of the 14 Thank You Coloring Posters of their choice.
OR
● Can download the written submission poster “Who Do You Want To Say Thank You To?”
Students 10-18 years old
● Delta Students download the Create Your Own Thank You Poster
OR
● Can download the written submission poster “Who Do You Want To Say Thank You To?”
Posters are available for download at www.deltafirefighters.com/creativestudents/
**Teachers will coordinate with students who are unable to download/access submission templates**
Completed Posters
● Can be scanned/photographed and emailed to [email protected]
or
● Dropped off to one of the following Delta Fire Halls drop boxes at the front entrance: ○ Delta Fire Hall 1 (Ladner): 4645 Harvest Drive, Delta BC ○ Delta Fire Hall 2 (Tsawwassen): 5416 12th Avenue, Delta BC ○ Delta Fire Hall 5 (North Delta): 11720 64th Avenue, Delta BC
RULES
● Submissions must be completed and submitted between May 7th and June 1st, 2020. ● Submissions must be completed on white 8.5” x 11” paper using the templates on the
Delta Firefighters website. ● Students may submit more than one submission ● Submissions must include first name, last initial, age, school and division number.
● Submissions must be completed by the student whose name is associated with the
poster. ● Artwork will be displayed throughout the City of Delta. ● Non school age children are welcome to make submissions as well!
Winners
● Winners will be selected based on age group and type of submission (Art and Written), for a total of four winners.
● Winners will receive a $100.00 gift card to a local business of their choice. ● In addition the winners' names will go alongside the Delta Firefighters donor list to the
Delta School District Food Security Program.
REQUESTS
● We request that teachers ensure students participate in the program by sending reminders and links.
● We request that the school district help facilitate posters for pick up and drop off for students who require assistance.
● Guidelines on how others can donate to the Delta School District Food Security Program. ● Delta School District promotes/ retweets Delta Firefighters social media posts regarding
student submissions and reaching the $10,000.00 goal. ● Delta School District promotes program on LED screens outside of schools
● City of Delta/ Mayor Harvie’s office judge posters and select winners. ● City of Delta supports the presentation of posters in City Hall and North Delta Public
Safety Building front Windows. ● City of Delta promotes the program and supports the presentation of posters on LED
screens within the city. ● City of Delta promotes/ retweets Delta Firefighters social media posts regarding student
submissions and reaching the $10,000.00 goal.
PROMOTIONS
● Delta Firefighters social media posts will promote students to make submissions to support the Delta School District Food Security Program.
● Delta Firefighters to run a three part promotional campaign with the Delta Optimist and North Delta Reporter.
● Delta Firefighters social media posts will promote others to support the Delta School District Food Security Program by contacting Kirsten Hermanson via email.
PRESENTATION
● Posters will be presented at Delta City Hall and the North Delta Public Safety Building, along with the City of Delta LED screens at North Delta Recreation Centre and Highway 17A/ Ladner Trunk Road.
● Posters will be displayed on the Delta Firefighters social media accounts and the Delta School District accounts.
● Winning Posters will be presented in the Delta Optimist Newspaper and Online
JUDGING
● Winning posters will be selected by Mayor Harvie and announced during a Town Hall or Council Meeting.
DONATION
● The Delta Firefighters Holding Society and Delta Firefighters Charitable Society will make a $10 donation per submission (Minimum donation of $2,500.00, Up to a maximum of $10,000.00) to the Delta School District Food Security Program.
