We were able to give back in a BIG way at our favorite event of the year! Over 160 SPIRE employeesand volunteers were on hand to showcase our products and services, educate guests through seminars and be available to answer questions.

After our business meeting, the amazing (and record-breaking) Alana Nichols shared her story with us. A true inspiration for anyone, Alana overcame a spinal cord injury while performing a backflip on her snowboard, leaving her paralyzed at the age of 17. With her passion for sports and living life to the fullest, Alana transitioned to adaptive sports, becoming the first American female to win gold medals in both the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. Alana stayed late signing autographs, taking photographs, and sharing her gold medals!

From all of us at SPIRE, to those of you who came, thank you for sharing your Saturday with us. Thank you for bringing food donations for Second Harvest Heartland, which provided 1,385 meals. Thank you for purchasing 1,000 candy bars to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. And most importantly, thank you for being a SPIRE member.

HomeAdvantage®: AGENTS WHO REWARDFinding a qualified real estate agent who has your best interests in mind can make all the difference, which is why SPIRE offers members free access to the HomeAdvantage® program and its network of real estate pros.

All agents in the network were handpicked by SPIRE based on experience and expertise. When you buy or sell a home using one of these agents,

you qualify for HomeAdvantage Cash Rewards.* Cash Rewards are equal to 20% of your agent’s commission,

saving you $100s to $1000s at closing. Our average member saves $1,556 per transaction! Use

your agent to buy and sell, and receive double the reward!

*The HomeAdvantage program is made available to you through a relationship between SPIRE and CU Realty Services. Cash rewards are awarded by CU Realty Services to buyers and sellers who select and use a real estate agent in the HomeAdvantage network. Home buyers or sellers are not eligible for the cash reward if they use an agent outside this network. Using your credit union for a mortgage is not a requirement to earn a cash reward. Cash reward amounts are dependent on the commissions paid to the agent. Your credit union may have specific rules on how your reward will be paid out. Cash reward incentives are available in most states; however, are void where prohibited by law or by the lender. Please consult with your credit union to get details that may affect you.

SPIRE Awarded Second Place Nationally for Social Responsibility

SPIRE has been honored with the second place 2016 National Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award. The award sponsored by Credit Union National Association (CUNA), recognizes credit unions for the activities they coordinate that benefit their community or a specific charity.

SPIRE’s social responsibility efforts originate with its Give Back Team that supports local branch communities. SPIRE employees are passionate about building a better world, one person at a time, by reaching out to those who may not

otherwise have help. In one year, this collaborative effort resulted in each of SPIRE’s 200 employees participating in over 120 events and activities, 2,850 employee hours, $26,000 given back, and countless lives changed.

“We are absolutely humbled to be recognized on the national level,” said Dan Stoltz, SPIRE President/CEO, “Our employees work so hard to give back to their communities and to see them acknowledged at this level makes me so proud to work with each and every one of them!”

Dan Stoltz accepts the National Dora Maxwell Award in Washington, D.C.
