Hello, this is Mrs. Wanlass, your student's 8th grade math teacher at Utah Virtual Academy. I am reaching out because your student missed my live Math class at 9:00 am today. I just wanted to remind you that class attendance is mandatory and each class attended counts toward your student’s grade. Your student can make up this missed class by watching the recording, and filling out the exit ticked provided at the end of class. I look forward to seeing your student in class tomorrow and I appreciate your support as his/her learning coach. I promise that working together we can help him/her achieve great things this year, and coming to class each day is a huge part of that success!

ALSO SEND A TEXT… THEY WILL WANT TO COME TO CLASS AFTER WE’RE DONE WITH THEM!

Your template is now saved for everyday use.

All you have to do now is find the non-attendees and send this to them!

AFTER CLASS, FIND YOUR NON-ATTENDEES

Pull attendance list and filter for the students that missed class

Make sure that you only look at the names that have “(ST)” next to it!

YOU CAN MAKE AN EXCEL LIKE THE FOLLOWING, BUT I THINK I HAVE AN EASIER WAY! MORE DIRECTIONS ON THIS FOUND HERE

First import a WHOLE class list following directions found here.

I don’t recommend using the excel document to import your class because you will have to re-import each time you get new students.

I just suggest searching for your students with their grade as I will show!

GO BACK TO TEMPLATES AND FIND YOURS

NOW IT IS TIME TO ADD PARTICIPANTS

IF YOU IMPORTED A GROUP, CLICK THE PLUS NEXT TO “GROUP.” IF NOT, CLICK ON “GRADE.”

Select the grade or group that you need.

HERE YOU CAN SEARCH THROUGH AND SELECT THE STUDENTS THAT YOU NEED TO SEND THE MESSAGE TO!

SELECT “NOW,” AND THEN CLICK “NEXT.”

REVIEW YOUR MESSAGE AND THEN CLICK SEND!

AND NOW YOU ARE DONE - CONGRATS!

You will receive an email giving you details of your call!
