BNP Paribas Wealth Management – Digital PlaybookCase Study
The Challenge
• In context of BNP Paribas WM’s CX program, WMIS was thinking of a way to establish
a more agile organisation model to act as a kind of internal digital factory or agency,
aimed to support more innovative design & implementation projects in the digital space.
Our Solution
• We analysed the current situation at BNP Paribas WM. considering the learnings and
experiences from the CX program as well as other relevant stakeholders in Paris,
Geneva, Singapore and Lisbon.
• We worked out findings & conclusions to be the baseline for our new operating model to
be suggested.
• We ran a 3-day Design Sprint based on Google Venture’s innovation model to shape a
new operating & organisation model, working in a joint team with WMIS’ CIO and his
team.
• We’ve put together the target picture for organisation, processes and governance
• We created a roadmap (Get Fit Plan) to suggest WMIS on how to turn this model into
real live
Results
• Our Digital Playbook is meant to be the major handbook for BNP Paribas WMIS to
implement their own Digital Factory model
• A clear roadmap of suggested actions tells WMIS how to execute the recommendations
How to build WMIS’ digital factory to
increase speed, agility and foster
innovation within BNP Paribas?

Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen – Closed Loop CardCase Study
The Challenge
• Helaba provides business process outsourcing for a customer loyality service for one of
germay’s largest DIY-retailers. The service should be revitalized by developing a digital
version.
Our Solution
• We ran a 3-day Design Sprint based in Google Venture’s innovation model to
understand the problem, identify ideas and shape a potential solution.
• Beyond the original idea of creating a mobile, digital version of the loyality card, the
team focused on defining a platform concept based on API economy principles to allow
easy onboarding and integration of new service customers.
• Instead of developing an individual, branded mobile app, the concept provides
integration in existing retail apps via APIs.
• The customer application process was completely redesigned, leveraging state-of-the-
art concepts and technologies.
Results
• The solution offered an opportunity to rapidly grow the business to new service
customers, due to the open API and platform design.
• The application process was cut down from 29 analog pages to a digital process, just
taking a few clicks and some fotos to authenticate customers via ID card.
• The MVP was well received by Helaba’s board, funding the implementation and roll-out
of the productive solution within the next 2 years.

Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen – Digital LegitimationCase Study
The Challenge
• Helaba still uses paper-based signature cards and various manual processes to
authentice and legitimize bank account holders in their corporate business.
• Account opening takes several weeks, transaction approval sometimes several days.
Our Solution
• We ran a 3-day Design Sprint based in Google Venture’s innovation model to
understand the problem, identify ideas and shape a potential solution.
• Beyond the original idea of integratingone of the widely known video authentication
services, the team invented the idea of a white-labled signature bank to provide
signature management services to a variety of banks.
• A platform based approach leveraging API principles should ensure easy integration
and adoption of the services.
• A white-labeled mobile app provides easy, personalized authentication for corporate
bank account holders.
Results
• The solution offered an opportunity to radically reduce process runtimes from several
days or weeks down to just a few minutes
• The solution also offered a concept to generally digitalize the management of signature
cards within a bank
• The MVP was well received by Helaba’s board, funding the implementation and roll-out
of the productive solution within the next 2 years.

Siemens Large Drives – Web Configurator RedesignCase Study
The Challenge
• One of Siemens LD’s major sales channels is a web based configurator for electronic
motors, used by engineers to find products matching their specific, highly sophisticated
requirements.
• The existing solution required minimum 52 clicks before a product can be selected –
while competitors offer a much leaner solution.
Our Solution
• We ran a 3-day Design Sprint based in Google Venture’s innovation model to
understand the problem, identify ideas and shape a potential solution.
• We identified and adopted state-of-the-art filtering & navigation paradigms to simplify
the process of product selection
• The new solution was prototyped and demonstrated to sales people and customers
after 3 weeks.
• Implementation of the MVP was done in less than 2 months, leveraging productive data
Results
• The new solutions offers the first “shippable” products (including pricing) even after 3
clicks
• Siemens sales staff and customers where stunned by the speed & ease of use of the
new selection process
• Siemens decided to pursue the solution by running subsequent MVP iterations, driving
the idea way beyond the original request
