Atomic 600 DCS®General Information

Description of the Machine ___________________________________________________________The Bona® Atomic 600 DCS® is a dust collection system with two independent vacuum motors that runs on 120 volts 50/60Hz . They may be run off of a 120/240 volt split power supply or off of two independent 120 volt 15 amp circuits .

An onboard cyclone separator collects and deposits most of the dust during operation into the main collection barrel . A small percentage of dust may also be collected in the filter chamber located beneath the motor housing . Both of these collection areas are designed to be used with a properly sized bag in place for dust collection efficiency and ease of disposal .

In addition, two independent, patent-pending AirBlast™ filter cleaning mechanisms are integrated into the bottom of the motor housing .

Included___________________________________________________________________________

Set-up Instructions _________________________________________________________________

Install properly sized plastic collection bag into main collection barrel and filter chamber with bag excess gathered and smoothly draped over edge of tank .

DO NOT RUN UNIT WITHOUT THE BAGS IN PLACE AS THIS WILL ALLOW DUST TO BE PULLED DIRECTLY INTO THE MOTOR AND WILL FLOW OUT OF THE EXHAUST PART, THEREBY CONTAMINATING THE WORK ENVIRONMENT!

Your vacuum is equipped with a dual circuit indicator light, showing when two 120v cords are properly plugged into separate fuse circuits .

Secure latches on barrels . The hook latches are adjustable . Occasionally adjust

the tension on the latches to insure an adequate seal .

Check that negative pressure hoses are attached to parts on both collection barrels .

Hour Meter .

USE ONLY HEAVY DUTY BAGS! ( 4mil or greater ) Thin bags may tear, pop and or pull into the cyclone during operation.

Operation Instructions _______________________________________________________________

Plug into any two 120v 15 or 20amp outlets . For 120v operation you MUST have two separate 120v 15 or 20 amp circuits in order to run both motors simultaneously . If using two 120v circuits to power the unit remove the 120v female plugs that are a part of the unit and plug your power cords into the male flanged 120v plugs as shown .

Optional 120/240v - 4 wire connection . Check the enclosed external wiring diagram to insure the wiring on your cable is correct . If wiring is incorrect the voltage may be too high for the motors resulting in damage which is not covered under the warranty . The 240v wiring splits off into two 120 volt circuits . This allows the motors to run on either the 240 volt setup or two, separate 120 volt lines without any adaptation . Plugs are twist-lock style .

Included docking station can be bolted to vehicle/trailer for secure transportation .

Cyclone has a T-hook that fits in tray slot for easy maintenance .

This unit collects over 98% of the dust in the cyclone collection barrel during operation . Eventually the small amount of dust that gets in the filter chamber will begin to clog the filter, thereby creating air flow resistance and loss of performance . The unit is equipped with a minihelic gauge that measures the resistance of airflow through the filter . When the filter reaches approximately 20” h20 on the gauge, which is half way, the filter should be cleaned with the use of the AirBlast™ clearing system . The AirBlast™ clearing operation should be repeated every 1-2 hours, but varies with amount of dust being collected over a given period . One switch turns on both motors .

To clean the filter simply pull the AirBlast™ catch lever back quickly and release . The filter has been cleaned and you are ready to continue operation . Repeat .

Dust Collection Capacity__________________________________________________________________ Dust collection barrel has a 30-gallon capacity . The actual dust collection capacity should be based on whatever is an acceptable weight to handle for the operator . If the barrel is filled to create an unmanageable weight for an individual to safely lift, operator is required to utilize a mechanical lifting device to dispose of dust in an approved receptacle . Consult and abide by local regulations regarding disposal of debris .
