Examples of Indicators for Local Good Governance

Rule of Law Does the municipality have any tools/ measures/

procedures to enforce actions or to solve problems by

using the law?

Morality Does the municipality have any measures or actions to

promote ethics and morality of executives and staffs to achieve the local ethics and morality standards?

Accountability Does the municipality have a process to respond to the

service provided/ service requested/ full management of

the people’s request?

Has the municipality evaluated the success/ effects of

past activities including the aid for those affected from using the municipality’s public facilities?

Transparency Is the municipality transparent in terms of finance and

purchase?

Has the municipality set up an easily accessible

information center with evaluation of the people’s

understanding of the information given?

Examples of Indicators for Local Good Governance

Participation Does the municipality offer opportunities for locals to take part in planning?

Does the municipality have projects/ activities that

cooperates with the other local governments along

with the governmental, social, and independent organizations?

Efficiency and Effectiveness

What percentage of the projects that has received an

annual budget support has sustain the income according to the goal or reduced spending to increase income
