PROJECT RATIONALE:

“Ignite” is a 6-foot-tall 3D typographic installation that aims to question the death of analog de-sign, when humans have the inherent need to be tactile and explore things in a multiple-sensory rich manner. The piece is an expression of the importance of the creative process. Inspired by Bruce Mau’s “Incomplete Manifesto for Change”, the objective of the installation is to allow pro-cess to dictate the outcome (for that is when it becomes a true artistic process) and express it in a tactical/typographic way. Every part of the project has been hand-created: from the custom-ized typeface, to the letterforms that were built from corrugated cardboard, to the music used in the documentation video.

The target audience for this piece consists of young designers, artists, type enthusiasts, and people interested the spark of inspiration and how it effects the creative process. It is based mainly for an audience of the visually hungry. For anyone who wishes to satisfy sensory needs and keen on indulging of expressive 3D type.
