Dates, times, and locations are subject to change either by action of the ASSC Senate or the ASSC Election Committee. It is the responsibility of the candidates to attend all mandatory meetings and assemblies.

TRANSPORTATION FEE – SCC Fall 2016 Election

“Shall the Solano Community College District Board of Trustees require that all Solano Community College students pay a transportation fee

for the purpose of providing reduced (50% off) transit fares for students for the semesters from Spring 2017 through Fall 2019?”

Vote “YES” if you are in favor of the Transportation Fee Vote “NO” if you are opposed to the Transportation Fee

If students approve this measure by a simple majority (50 percent plus 1 of those voting), the fee will be implemented as follows:

Full Time Students: taking 12+ units would pay $10 per semester - $20.00 per year

PT Students: taking 6.5-11.5 units would pay $8.00 per semester - $16.00 per year

PT Students: taking 3.5-6 units would pay $4.00 per semester - $8.00 per year

PT Students: taking 0.5-3 units would pay $1.50 per semester - $3.00 per year

The implementation of this fee would begin Spring 2017

& Tuesdays - Please call in advance at 864-7163 for an

appointment. You must return in 48-72 hours post test to

have the Tuberculin skin test read and receive your record

of testing.

Health Screening exams are available at the Student Health Center for Children’s Program students. Drop-in or make an appointment for your Health Screening.

Screenings/testing: Health , diabetic, vision, hearing and urine screenings.

Medications: Free over-the-counter medications for common conditions are available free to students at the Student Health Center. Medications include: generic choices of decongestants, pain medications, cough suppressants, lubricating eye drops, burn gel, & more.

Academic Success and

Tutoring Center (ASTC)

In the Main Campus Library

and at the Vacaville & Vallejo Centers

The Academic Success Center and Tutoring Center continue to work together to provide one cohesive service.

Referred to as the Academic Success & Tutoring Center (ASTC), students have the ability to access

both 1-on-1 tutoring and drop-in tutoring services in one location.

The ASTC space for the main campus is inside the campus Library; enter through the double doors of the library, turn left, and find us at the end of

the hall near room 101. ASTC services are also available at the Vacaville and Vallejo Centers.

All services are free and open to currently enrolled students.

JOB, CLASS, OR JUST WANT TO KNOW YOUR

TYPING SPEED AND ACCURACY?

TYPING TEST CERTIFICATES FALL 2016

You can take a typing test and receive a certificate immediately at the Solano Community College Campus in Fairfield

The 5-minute typing test is given in Room 502 on Fridays from 12:00-3:30 p.m. on the following dates:

September 9, 16, 23, & 30 October 7, 17, 21, & 28

November 4 & 18 December 2, 9, & 16

There is no cost for the test, you just need to bring

some form of identification with a picture.

Typing Certificate will show your words per minute/how many errors/ and signed by a proctor.

If you need a placement test for registration into a course please email [email protected] with your name, ID

number and course you are interested in registering for and I will schedule a placement test for you. You must already have

completed the application process for the college.

SCC Student ID Cards - Only $5!!!

Step 1: First, you must Purchase your ID either online or at the Admissions and Records office in the 400 building.

Step 2: Bring proof of payment and copy of your current schedule along with a valid photo ID (CDL, HS ID, Passport, etc.) to the Student Life Office in room 1425.

Final Step: A photo will be taken and an ID will be issued to you. Once yo have your ID, you can start using it to receive student discounts, attend SCC home games free, receive discounted admission to Solano College’s Theatrical performances. For more information about other benefits of having a

Student ID, contact the Student Life office in rm. 1425.
