A Word about Assessment The goal of the assessment test is to help you discover what skills your students have acquired and what skills they need to learn.You can use the pretest at the beginning of a new school year or during the course of the school year to give you an idea of where your students are in their development.The post-test can then be used as a follow-up. As you give the assessment, talk with your students about their thinking. Ask questions about the answers they give. If a student cannot complete the assessment, you can use the assessment as a teaching tool. Walk the student through the assessment, teaching as you go. A Word about Assessment
