2.0 LOCATION
The claim is located in Begin Township approximately 95 road kilometres west of Thunder Bay. The ciaim (#1232.185) is situated on claim map #G-643 within the Thunder Bay Mining Division. The claim encompasses the soutnern arm. and the western half, of the northern arm of Horseshoe Lake.
2.1 ACCESS
Access Lo the claim may be obtained by 3 routes:
l! The first route is driving west from Thunder Bay and taking Highway til just past Shabaqua. following it approximately 11 kilometres to the turn off south on Inco's mine site road. Obtaining access through Inco's main gate, and a secondary gate on the west side of the property on the Otto Road which eventually runs through the western portion of the claim (most direct at 95 kilometres);
2) By access off of Highway #11 down toward the Coldstream mine site, southward past Squeers Lake, then heading east off of that road and eventually turning north up to Otto Road to the claim: and
3) Access from the southeast, off the Main 17-11 highway near Kakabeka halls through O r Conner, Marks and Aldina townships, along a series of "Boreal Timber" roads, past Swallow Lake and turning north on Otto Road just before Greenwater Lake.

3.0 TOPOGRAPHY
The topography of claim block #1232185 is of moderate relief with the local height of land being between the two arms of Horseshoe Lake. This height of land results in a few steep faced outcrops as the ground progresses towards the two arms of Horseshoe Lake. Water flow of Horseshoe Lake is to the west in the north arm (Photo 1) of the lake.
Photo 1 - Looking east3.1 VEGETATION and WILDLIFE
The area of the claim block has had considerable "clear cutting" many years ago. In some of the more steep rocky areas, mature trees still exist. Also in some of the clear cut areas, the odd mature pine was left to possibly assist with regeneration of the area, as young pines nearby will attest to.
New growth is mainly balsam, spruce and j ackpine with minor alder, birch and poplar. Some of the secondary access roads off of the main "Otto Road" have ^ome jackpine trees in the three to four foot height located in the middle of them.
Moose, beaver and bear have been noted in the area, along with squirrels, partridge and other birds and small mammals. The lake is known to contain pickerel and northern pike.
4.0 REGIONAL MINING HISTORY
The mining history of the area is highlighted by 3 main occurrences, 1) Ardeen Mine, 2) Coldstream mine, and 3) Inco's Shebandowan Mine.
1) The Ardeen Mine is located near Moss Lake about 32 kilometres due west from claim #1232185. It operated approximately from 1932 to 1936, producing 143,724 tons of ore for a recovery of 29,629 ounces of gold and 170,463 ounces of silver, by employing shrinkage stoping, cut and fill stoping and a combination of shrinkage and cut and fill stoping methodsj.
2) The North Coldstream Mine is located by Burchell Lake approximately 20 kilometres west and slightly north from claim#1232185. It operated from 1960 to 1967 and produced 2,500,000 tons of ore at J.,97% copper, employing a mixture of jackleg shrinkage and open long hole stoping methods 2 .
3) Inco's Shebandowan Mine is located in Southwest Bay of Lower Shebandowan Lake approximately 6 to 7 kilometres northeast of claim#1232185. Production commenced in 1972 and discontinued in May of 1992 due to poor market conditions. It resumed in late 1995 and continued to April 1998 when the mine was scheduled to shutdown 3 . Production was unavailable at the time of writing, but was carried out utilizing long hole stoping arid bulk mining methods.

5.1 REGIONAL KEY EXPLORATIONAL ACTIVITIES
There are two key regional exploration activities of note. The first one is the Pele Mountain's exploration of the Old Ardeen Mine and area, and the second is the Snodgrass lake area presently held by Moss Lake Gold Mines Ltd, 60"^ owned by River Gold and the remainder held by Tandem Resources and Storimin Explorations Ltd.
PELE MOUNTAIN RESOURCES - ARDEEN PROPERTYj
The Pele Mountain's Ardeen Mine project exploration has focused on prospecting, line cutting, geological mapping, geochemistry, geophysics(VLF-EM. mag. IP and down hole pulse EM), mechanical trenching, stripping, channel sampling and more than 12,000 metres of diamond drilling. This resulted in the identification of five zones containing an inferred resource of 1,082,939 tonnes at 14.4 g/tonne uncut. The potential for increasing these values is excellent.
The zones are contained within strong shear systems with associated alteration and sulphides. The mineralized zones are structurally related and localized in a mixed mafic volcanic/iron formation unit and are intruded by quartz/feldspar porphyry, syenite and gabbro.
MOSS LAKE GOLD MINES - SNODGRASS PROPERTY2
The Snodgrass deposit's exploration has focused on prospecting, field mapping, line cutting, geochemical sampling and geophysical applications, stripping, trenching and 286 diamond drill holes encompassing several tens of thousands of metres of drilling.
The Snodgrass deposit has two reserve scenarios, 1) 60 million tons grading 1.1 gram/tonne or 2) the higher grade core scenario of 475,000 tonnes grading 6.2 grams/tonne in 4 zones.
The Snodgrass Lake gold zones are contained in metadiorite and subordinate quartz syenite with disseminated, fracture-filling, and shear zone filling pyrite and chalcopyrite.

Information obtained from River Gold website, River Gold/Moss Lake Gold Mines public news releases, report S43. "Geological Setting of Gold Mineralization in Central Moss Township, Shebandowan Greenstone Belt, Northwestern Ontario" by Lesley Chorlton O.G.S geologist, in Summary of Field Work and Other Activities 1985 Miscellaneous Paper 126 and also telephone conversation with G. Mannard of Moss Lake Gold Mines.
5.0 REGIONAL GEOLOGY
Multi-aged felsic and mafic intrusions cut the mafic and felsic metavolcanics that predominate the Shebandowan Greenstone Belt. Many of these me tavol can i c units consist of massive and pillowed flows, locally brecciated with less abundant tuffs and agglomerates.
Two groups of metasediment s exist in the area. The more northerly "Kashabowie Group" is mainly made up of biotite-feIdspar- quartz schist, grading into migmatite. The metamorphic extent is higher than the more southerly coarse to medium grained "Clastic Me tasediments".
The felsic intrusives are mainly granite and granite gneiss, and vary in appearance and composition. The granite for the most part is a pink hornblende granite with orthoclase phenocrysts up to l inch in diameter.
The mafic intrusions of the area consist of granodiorite, diorite, hornblende gabbro and anorthosite. They form various sized bodies in the larger bathol iths. In some cases they occur at the margins of batholithic granite on one side and into prebatho l i t hi c metamorphosed rocks on the other side.
Iron formations are associated with the older mafic metavol can ics and with the clastic metasediment s.
Few folds are visible in the older metavolcanics, but tight isoclinal folds have been noted in two of the metased imentary inliers. Several steeply dipping shear zones and several faults of N.W. and N.E. strike have been noted in previous work.

5.l CLAIM GEOLOGY
Prospecting within the claim block has indicated that the western side, central and southeastern area is dominated with mostly mafic me tavol canics. The central portion of the mafic volcanics contains banded iron formations. The metavolcanics in some places have amygdaloidal structures in which the amygdules are elongated or ellipsoidal and in many cases filled with calcite, quartz and other gangue materials. On the southern shore of the north arm of Horseshoe Lake a section of gabbroic rocks exists. This type of rock also exists in the western end of the southern arm of Horseshoe Lake.
Many of the fractures and jointed features appear to show a north-south and east-west orientation, but there are examples of a nor theast-southwestern orientation. A good portion of the fractures/joint s contain a blocky quartz filling that pinches and swells from less than a millimetre to 50 centimetres in width. Most of the quartz fillings are barren with the minor occurrences of pyrite. A perfect example of this is in Photo 2 and Photo 3,. located on page 13.
Close to the west-central edge of the claim block, a s i l i c i fied/quart z flooded shear zone was located. Two small trenches were blasted on the shear. These two trenches can be seen in Photo 4 and 5 located on page 14. Trench #1 and #2 were sampled and rock description and assay results and be seen on page 21. A 0.25 to 0.30m quartz vein in gabbro was found in the northern part of Area 4. This was blasted (Trench 3) and sampled; assay results can be see on page 21 also.
At least, two sets of Banded Iron Format ions(BIF) were noted on site. A set which ran in an general southwest-northeast orientation and the other which ran roughly north-south. These BIF's were very steeply dipping in 80 0 to 90 0 range. The BIF's appeared to contain varying amounts of magnetite, quartz veinlets, chert, and occasionally minor jasper and slate-like material. This slate-like material indicates a marine-like origin. Photo 6 and 7 located on page 15 shows the sou thwest-nor theast BIF.
