Invitation to Asia Steel 2018
Asia Steel 2018, the seventh International Conference will be held during 6-9th February, 2018 in
Bhubaneswar - the city of temples, Odisha, India. The Indian Institute of Metals and Tata Steel Ltd
are honoured to hold this International Conference for the second time (first time in 2003) since its
inception in 2000. Last time, the Asia Steel conference was held in Yokohama Japan in 2015.
Steel holds a unique position as an engineering material due to its applications in various fields
and expected to remain there in the future due to continued growth of automotive & infrastructure
sector worldwide. Although there are lots of developments on the material front but the steel is
expected to remain in its superior position due to its low cost & recyclability. The steel producing
countries therefore, need to deliberate the issues and challenges on continual basis to ensure a
sustainable future. Asia, being the largest producer of steel in the world has aptly taken the
responsibility of holding this conference at regular interval. Asia Steel Conference provides the
right opportunity to bring steel producers, researchers, academicians, equipment manufacturers
and technology suppliers of the world on a common platform to share new and innovative
happenings.
Like the previous Asia Steel conferences, we are confident that Asia Steel 2018 in India will prove
to be equally enriching and meet the stated objectives.
We cordially invite you to participate in this international conference. We look forward to meeting
you in Bhubaneswar in the month of February 2018.
