A shley Cave and Nazem Kadri, a professional hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs, met in January 2016. Less than two years later, the couple was married during an intimate ceremony attended by close family

members only. Several months later, the couple celebrated their marriage with a grand reception and after-party, both of which were held at CASA LOMA.

Tara O’Grady of BLISS TORONTO INC. provided full-service planning and design assistance for the reception and after-party, which took place on July 28, 2018 in Toronto, Ontario.

Invitations were designed by STEPHITA WEDDING INVITATIONS and included inserts, letting guests know that in lieu of gifts they could make a donation to the groom’s charity, the Nazem Kadri Foundation.

CLINGEN WEDDING & EVENT DESIGN provided all floral and decor design, which included life-size cherry blossom trees, a mixture of high and low ivory centrepieces with hints of soft blush, and crystal candelabras with white taper candles. Guests dined at round and gallery tables accented with chairs and gold-rimmed charger plates from DETAILZ COUTURE EVENT RENTALS, stemware from PLATE OCCASIONS, and gold flatware and champagne flutes from EVENT RENTAL GROUP.

E N D N O T E S Ashley and Nazem’s wedding cake stood over five feet tall and was prepared by FINE CAKES

BY ZEHRA. The six-tier confection was decorated with lace appliqué and sugar flowers, and according to Ashley, choosing a wedding cake was Nazem’s favourite element of the planning process. “Naz has a wicked sweet tooth,” shares the bride.

Ashley and Nazem are currently enjoying married life in Toronto.

Taking after parties to a whole other level, the fun continued in the Glass Pavilion at CASA LOMA. A colour palette of shimmering gold, blush pink, and soft mocha was used and according to planner Tara O’Grady, “The intention was for the Pavilion to serve as a pretty, sexy lounge environment.” The floor plan, designed by BLISS

TORONTO INC., included multiple lounge areas with chic sofas and cocktail tables, a lavish dessert setup, and a statement floral chandelier from RACHEL A. CLINGEN

WEDDING & EVENT DESIGN that hung over the dance floor.
