Nicole and Daniel met while working together in 2006. Six years later, Daniel proposed to Nicole while at a dinner attended by both of their families. On June 1, 2013 the couple was married at the home of the bride’s parents in Brantford, Ontario. Rachel Clingen of Rachel A. Clingen Wedding & Event Design was commissioned to provide full-service floral and design for the wedding. The couple wanted their day to exude casual elegance and turned to Rachel to create a rustic yet sophisticated ambience. Kelly Spinelli of Laura & Co. Events provided full-service planning for the celebration.

c u s t o m s t a t i o n e r y Deborah Lau-Yu of PALETTERA Custom Correspondences designed the stationery for the event, including the invitation. The front was designed to mirror the gates at the entrance of Nicole’s parent’s home and featured a monogram of the couple’s initials in a fig leaf design. “The property is covered in fig trees that have been nurtured by my father for many years, so as a nice touch a fig leaf was incorporated into the design,” shares Nicole.

The ceremony took place on the stunning front lawn of Nicole’s parent’s home. Guests enjoyed a selection of hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, including the couple’s blush pink signature drink, prior to the “I Do’s.”

A string quartet provided by the After Midnight Band played as the wedding party made their way outdoors. “My favourite moment of the day was walking down the stairs in the house that I grew up in to meet my husband,” shares Nicole.

As Nicole walked down the aisle, she carried a beautiful bouquet composed of white phalaenopsis orchids accented with pink roses and peonies.

A pair of large stone garden urns filled with beautiful arrangements of hydrangea, garden roses, and peonies flanked the entrance to the aisle. The long white carpeted aisle was lined with bundles of hand-tied flowers suspended on white hooks.

Nicole wore a vintage-inspired Jenny Packham gown from White Toronto. Her crystal and pearl hairpiece was also purchased from the Toronto bridal boutique. She wore drop earrings and a delicate necklace from Mark Lash Fine Jewelry. Her shoes were white, open-toe pumps by Gianvito Rossi. The bride’s classic hair and makeup were styled by Jackie Gideon Beauty. Nicole’s bridesmaids wore dresses of their choosing in pretty shades of pink. Daniel wore a custom-made suit from Rosso’s Bespoke.

The couple exchanged personal vows under an exquisite, custom-made chuppah designed by Rachel A. Clingen Wedding & Event Design. The wrought-iron structure was covered with an abundance of soft pink and cream flowers with intertwining vines. A large crystal chandelier was hung from the centre for an extra touch of glamour. “It was magnificent and also looked magical at night,” says Nicole.

The reception was housed in a large outdoor tent draped in white fabric, decorated with dozens of crystal chandeliers. Round guest tables featured pink and cream floral centrepieces accented with vines. The arrangements were beautifully displayed in Mercury glass vases and crystal candelabras. Walnut Chiavari chairs and pedestal candles added to the romantic and rustic glamour.

Divine Furniture Rental provided lounge furniture and lucite bars for the occasion.

A harvest table custom-made by the bride’s father was used for the head table. The table was decorated with dreamy floral displays and candles down the centre. Chair caps made of sheer fabric with floral appliqués adorned each chair.

“The head table looked gorgeous,” recalls Nicole.

Devlin's Country Bistro and Catering catered the event and Neptuno provided an oyster bar for the occasion.

Guests danced the night away to the music provided by the After Midnight Band. As a lovely courtesy, valet car service was provided by Gatsby Valet.

“We couldn't have been happier with how our wedding turned out,” shares the couple.
