February 2018
Welcome to our new look. I am always impressed by the talent, skills, the energy, and the will to keep learning among our members. We want to demonstrate these to other members and to the outside public—in colour. I am therefore asking you to send in reports of your activities, where possible with photographs, as we would like to feature these in future newsletters. We have a lot to offer –and want to demonstrate this, as we did, for example at the Ash Summer fete the work of the Art and Painting for All Group. I am pleased that the new Line Dancing Group is going well at Normandy. A new iPad Group started November. New Badminton Group is starting in May. The Table Tennis Group was split into two groups in January. I Welcome Penelope Thomsett who has taken over venues and bookings from Sally Barnard. A big thank you to two unsung heroes; Pam Jarmain for organizing the refreshments at the monthly meetings; and to Ron Jarmain for all the running around looking after the multi media equipment used by some of the groups. Thank you to Graham Smith, our web-master for hosting the website, along with all the group leaders for keeping their group sections up to date. Please look at our website as all national/regional and other events are posted on the site. http://www.ashu3a.org.uk For those who do not have access to the website, the flyers are displayed at all monthly meetings. Don’t forget—we have our own Facebook page.

Family History group. Now, 30 strong, each month we have a short talk or internet presentation by any of our members followed by discussions, questions and answers to anything genealogical.
