ASEAN in Globalization Maelstrom

In the last three years, various economic tests take turn to hit some countries in the world, and of course ASEAN countries with no exception. In 2008 the world financial crisis had destroyed several countries in ASEAN such as Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. But in 2010 these countries had been recovered and economic steering can be controlled again.

Not long after that, a test came in the form of economic cooperation in ASEAN plus China (ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement / ACFTA). Generally, ASEAN countries can not compete with China so that the balance of trade deficits tend to deal with China, including Indonesia.
