  • As we grow in Christs love and the Word, We will share Christs love with the world.

St. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church & Preschool 7925 Sashabaw Rd. Clarkston, MI 48348-2905 FEBRUARY 2017

    Greetings in Christ!

What an exciting time to be a part of the St. Trinity family. We are in process of rolling out several new programs for our church and our facility. I realize that one of the most uncomfortable things we experience in our lives is change. However, change is often a necessary step in the growing process. Moses said to the Lord -why me? Joshua questions his own ability. Peter said; Go away from me Lord, Im a sinful man. Even our heros of scripture feared change. But, the old saying often rings true, If you keep doing what your doing, you keep getting what you got. Friends, If we love our church, we must put in place the steps to preserve its future. So I say to all the faithful I am so thankful for you. To highlight a few of the positive changes we are seeing, starting with the attendance numbers, the 4th quarter of 2016 had a 13.5% increase in attendance over last year at the same time. This is very encouraging to see that we are growing and bringing the saving message of Jesus to new people. Another encouraging event was at our January Voters Meeting in which we approved several new items. These plans are to continue to create an atmosphere of an open and friendly church inviting all to come and feel the love of our Risen Lord here. With the approval of these items, we are opening up several new positions to serve here at St. Trinity. One of these exciting new initiatives is the sanctuary projection system. With the approval of this new system, we are now moving forward quickly on ordering a new system that will include 90 monitors for the sanctuary to be used during the worship services. We hope this system will be up and running just in time for Easter. This addition will enhance the worship experience for all who attend, and will add new opportunities for members and friends to assist in the worship service. We have also added additional office staff to assist in the day-to-day operations of the church administrative needs. This is very exciting, and will again add to the smooth transition into the new leadership team. As we move forward into 2017, we are currently seeking members to join the new call committee to evaluate potential candidates to be your lead pastor. This process is one that will evaluate the qualifications of potential pastors to fill the position of Senior Pastor here at St. Trinity, and we will be communicating this progress to the congregation. Another exciting transition is the establishing of a new worship schedule starting February 19th. This means that there will no longer be an alternating Traditional / Blended worship schedule. The traditional service will always be at 8:15, with the blended service always on Saturday night and at the 11:00 service time Sunday. Prayerfully this will remove any confusion to guests or visitors or even staff as to style of worship on any given day. There are many areas of the ministry that we are looking at, and as always we welcome your input or suggestions on how we can better serve you, the members and the guests of St. Trinity.

In closing, Friends in Christ, your leadership team understands that often the most difficult time is when we undergo change, and we pray that all the changes we propose will be to the Glory of our Lord and to His Church! Please keep this process in your prayers. Gods richest blessings to each of you!

    In Christ, Pastor Mike

    March Newsletter Deadline

    is Friday,

    February 10th

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godnot by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). Salvation is a gift of God; we neither deserve it nor can we earn it. God gave it out of love for us (John 3:16). Jesus came to be our Savior while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). Because Christ first loved us, we will want to give of our time, talents, and treasures in love and thankfulness to Him to help build and strengthen the members of the household of faith and to share the message of salvation with the whole world.
