I believe in beauty, I believe in the deep resonance of form and shape that lies within nature’s delicate

grasp. I see in the cupped hand, the first vessel. I mimic the shapes of trees, in the shape of a whirling

skirt, the color of a leaf strewn forest floor, in a palette of taupes and browns and roses, I see the

extravagance of summer blended into the poetry of fall and I lay that palette on a tablecloth. I believe

that beauty lifts us up, and connects us to our ancestors, in their partnership with our sentient
