    Belch, Antoni

    5' 6", fair, blond

    hair, blue eyes Dobrechow Austria

Seems to be traveling alone. Names of 7 travellers on page are lined out; they were denied admission.

May be related to Jozefa Szatela, also going to uncle Ignacy Michalski, Broad St., New Britain.

    Belch, Balbina

Text version of manifest gives forename as ending in "o" but scanned manifest shows it ending in "a."

Gender given as "f." "D" and "z" in Dobrzechow transcrbied as "V" and "s".

    Belch, Ladislaus

Traveling w Carl Bryda. 4 people fr Dobrzechow on the page. May be same man as Ladyslaus Bolch. Neither

R/W, both going to New Britain, Jozef Michalski appears in both manifest entries for LB. Going to 463

    Myrtle St., as is JM.

    Belch, Ladislaus

Bolch is a German surname; Belch is Polish.Given name may be Wladyslaw. No ticket to final destination.

Traveling w Jozef Michalski. Not previosuly in US. But, is this the same man as Ladyslaus Belch?

Problem manifest page because of bursar sloppiness. 10 travelers from "Dobrzelow" [Dobrzechow] in

succession on manifest, 5 men, 5 women plus 2 others from "Dobrzechov" [Dobrzechow] and 8 fr

"Strussow" [Strzyzow]. "Dobrzechov" and "Dobrzelow" entered only once each, then followed by ditto

marks. Country listed as Austria for all. Marya Belch has no ticket to final destination. On detained list:

T715 Roll 917 Frame 282 Released 6/9, 11:30. No explan. Destination originally listed as Holyoke, Mass.,

Dobrzechow correctly written 2 x's on manifest, erroneously transcribed as Godowa. Traveling w Feliks

    Bryda, Feliks

    5' 1", fair,

    brown hair, grey

    eyes Dobrzechow Russia

Traveling w brother Jozef. Both going to Meriden, Conn. Both give contact relatives in Dobrzechow. Ellis

Island gives 2 entries for Felix Bryda (1911 and 1913) with nearly identical physical descriptions. In 1911

Felix is going to brother Marcin on Oak St in Meriden. 1910 US Census shows a Martin Bryda, 24,

silversmith, Polish, born in Austria living w wife at 17 Jefferson St., Meriden, Conn. Jefferson St. is near Oak

St [the two streets appear on same 1910 census sheet.] For 1913 arrival Feliks and brother Jozef may well

have been migrant agricultural workers working in Russian partition, and leaving from that place for the

U.s. Also possible that on 1913 entry Russia is a recording error on ship's manifest, made because 8

preceding travelers are from Russia. "Z" in village name read as "g" and name transcribed as Dobrgechow.

    Bryda, Feliks

    5' 2", fair,

    brown hair, grey

    eyes Dobrzechow Austria

Probably traveling alone. All but one travelers on page are Polish from Austria. Dobrzechow spelled 2 ways

on manifest. Birthplace looks like Dolriechow; "br" in Dobrzechow are elided to look like "lr."

    Bryda, Jozef

    5' 5", fair,

    brown hair,

    brown eyes. Dobrzechow Russia

Traveling w brother Feliks. Both going to Meriden, Conn. Both give contact relatives in Dobrzechow. Ellis

migrant agriculatural workers working in Russian partition and leaving for the US from there. Also possible

on 1913 entry Russia as citizenship is a recording error on ship's manifest, made because 8 preceding

travelers are from Russia. "Z" in village name read as "g" and name transcribed as Dobrgechow.

    Bryda, Julia

Village spelled Dobrocelow on manifest and transcribed as such. 9 travelers in succession on page; 6 from

Kozuchow, 1 other from Dobrocelow, 1 from Dobrzechow (spelled correctly but transcribed as Dobrz. .

.how). All 9 going to Thorndike. Links to wrong manifest . See SS Konigin Luise T715 Roll 201 Frame 956

Bryda, Karol Traveling w Ladislaus Belch.

    Bryda, Konstancya

Two other young women from Wislok Valley on page. Village written as Dobrezechow on manifest and

    transcrbed as such.

    Bryda, Marya

    5' 2", fair,

    brown hair,

brown eyes Dobrzechow Traveling w 2 females fr. Pstagowa and a 3rd fr Glinik Dolny. All going to Adams, 3 of them to Winter St.

    Bryda, Weronika

Village spelled 2 ways on manifest and transcribed same ways. 3 females from Kurczuhow/Kuczohow

[Kozuchow] and Katha Zdon on same page. 1910 US Census shows a Martin Bryda, 24, silversmith, Polish,

born in Austria living w wife at 17 Jefferson St., Meriden, Ct. Oak St [Marcin's later address] is on same
