ACCOMMODATIONS:You’ll stay in guest houses designed for pilgrims in Assisi and Rome called pensioni. In Assisi, the accommodations are at Casa Papa Giovanni right off the Piazza Comune in the heart of Old Assisi. In Rome, the accommodations at Casa Tra Noi are a short walk from St. Peter's Basilica and Vatican City. All twin-bedded rooms have private baths and are cleaned daily. The pensioni have their own dining rooms, library, classrooms, chapel, and common room. Participants have access to wi-fi. As it is a European pensione and not a hotel, the amenities one associates with a standard American hotel are not always available, and the rooms are smaller. While not offering all American hotel features, the central location of the pensioni and the spirit of camaraderie among the pilgrims make for wonderful accommodations.
