Just graduated from the faculty of Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, cum laude, and former Erasmus student at the Ecole Nationale dArchitecture Paris Val de Seine in Paris, I would like to extend my work experience with a full time posi-tion or internship in architecture offices.

I am looking for work experiences in the field of architecture and urban planning. I would encompass all stages of design development, construction documenta-tion, project management and client relations. As you can see from my Curricu-lum Vitae, I already had some professional experiences, since I have worked in different offices for several months, in Milan and Paris. Through my work there I developed a strong management skill and strict sense of responsibilities, besides practical knowledge. Furthermore, during my collaboration with the advertizing enterprise Free Service, I proved design skills by running the entire project of the exhibition stands in few exposition events about recycling, as well as I improved my knowledge in the field of design and publishing.I am comfortable working as part of a team but also have the ability to take re-sposnabilities when the situation arises. My verbal communication skills and positive attitude make me an effective communicator with all clients I work with; moreover I am a very fast learner.

Born the 18th of April 1986 in Chiaravalle (Ancona, Italy), Giulia Agostinelli attended Classical High School C. Rinaldi-ni in Ancona, Italy, from 2000 to 2005, when she graduated (grade 91/100). From 2005 to 2008 she was at Faculty of Ar-chitecture at the Polytechnic of Milan; in September 2008 she achieved the Bachelors Degree (grade 107/110). The thesis, with the title Building with wood: from raw material to dis-mantling, concerned the entire life-cycle of construction ma-terials, with a detailed attention to the LCA of wood and its possibilities to be recycled. From 2008 she attends the Mas-ters Degree in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan and at the Ecole Nationale Suprieure d Architecture Paris Val de Seine, within the international exchange program Erasmus.In July 2011 she achieved the Masters Degree in Architecture at Polytechnic of Milan cum laude. The thesis, with the title Changing Habit: a low impacts system for temporary con-structions, concerned the study of a system made of a struc-

ture that is repeatable into space and that can assume multiple configurations, according to different temporary situations.During 2008 she worked in Milan, at ADM Study of Archi-tecture, by Ado Donatello Franchini, university professor in Architectonic Design at the Polytechnic of Milan. Her activ-ity has been concentrated on the preliminary and definitive planning of a few projects from a Technological Scientific Pole to some villas. During 2010 she also worked in Paris, at Apie Architectes Asssocis, where she was involved in all aspects of projects. In fact she took part in the whole design of a school gym in Laignes (Bourgogne, France), the recovery of an historical restaurant in Corbeil (Champagne-Ardenne, France) and she completed the design of a residential build-ing in Romainville (le-de-France, France).At present she is collaborating with Free Service srl, a design agency, specialized in advertizing, exhibition events and in a national review about the recovery and recycle of the refusals.

During my studies, I tried to enlarge my acquaintances of the use of innovative materials and technologies applied in different fields other than architecture. In particular, my interests are addressed towards the area of complex and mobile systems that can be change their configurations in order to be adabtable to the context and to users. Foundamental is also my interest in the sus-tainability, both from the buildings point of view and from the use of natural or disposable materials point of view, with particular attention to wood or photocatalytic and transparent cement, which I had the opportunity to work with in detail.

Central in my life is also Photography: I attended several courses and workshops organized by Canon Italy in Milan; I was one of the photographers of Fosdem 2009, international computer science event in Brussels; moreover, I am the official photographer of the Musical Association Vincent Persichetti. Furthermore, I have a very active presence on the world wide photographer com-munity Flickr, where I daily upload photos and projects since 2008. Lately I am trying to enlarge my knowledge in the filed of design, with a particular interst for the web design area: in fact, among other works, I also am the developer of my own website.

ABOUTAbstract / Design Process

Operating in the field of both constructions for programmable events and construc-tions for emergency situations, the aim is to develop a project that excludes the idea of a completely defined module (which implies a huge waste of resources) choosing instead to develop a system with changing and adaptable configurations.The concept phase brings to the design of an assembly kit composed of a limited num-ber of simple elements, and that, considering the whole life cycle, is characterized by low costs, reversibility, recycling or reuse of the entire structure or of some of its ele-ments. Finally, the project, called Changing Habit, consists basically of a two-dimen-sional mobile frame, formed by bars and connections: thanks to few linear elements characterized by small size, it is possible to obtain a structure that is replaceable into different kinds of spaces and that can assume multiple configurations. This structure is also characterized by the development along a longitudinal direction, by the use of portals as basic modular element, and by the movement of its own constitutive ele-ments to achieve different configurations. The aim is to achieve the minimum com-plexity with a system that, using the least possible amount of material, can convey multiple and variable spaces, with very few movements: in fact, the system is based on a structure that is mobile itself, in its parts, in its different configurations.

ABOUTConcept / Design Process

The idea of the plan was conceived from the analysis of the existing predominant lines of the site, characterized by the presence of an historic hospital. The concept is indeed a regular mesh that merges existing building and the hospital itself. The aim is in fact to trace a series of urban tissues that refers to existing building features, such as the strong closure on the north street side, the minor density of buildings on the south and the consequent presence of a sort of surrounding green belt.

The multiplex was conceived from the fluxes developing on the sites: the idea is based on a wide distributed space, spread enough to allow the integration of all cinemas and functional spaces inside itself. Theaters are in fact realized as autonomous nodes both on terms of functional program and structure: the constructing technique is a self supporting cage made of steel and is self sufficient for each cell. On the contrary, the distribution space that connect each unit is mainly in glass, not only to increase natu-ral illumination but also to underline the symbolic value of spaces themselves: on one side, theaters are solid and opaque items, on the other side, distribution spaces that flow through theaters, are transparent and permeable.

The presence of strong elements, such us the Bibliothque Nationale de France (BnF) and the Palais Omnisports de Bercy, present nearby the project site, made reflect on the forces which play into such a project characterized by elements really dominating on the territory, among which, the Boulevard Peripherique and the Boulevard Ponia-towski, the very division edge between the Parisian periphery and the city itself. The idea of the project is thus born from the knowledge of these elements which strongly delimit the surface of the site, manipulating the existing urban fabric, compressing and decompressing it according to their effect on the territory. The project concept is indeed the merging of the already existing urban mashes of Paris and Charenton, merging that undergoes strong transformations, according to large surfaces of influ-ence represented, on one side, by built elements like the shopping mall, the exchange, the Bercy 2 complex, and on the other side, by strong natural elements like the Seine and the Bois de Vincennes. This compression and decompression of the urban mesh generate a diversified urban fabric, which gives two distinguished flows: the first, char-acterized by a kind of spontaneity which connects the Bois de Vincennes to the Seine, and the second one, which, starting from the construction of a new stop for the river shuttle, almost becomes an entry towards the city.

The concept idea is to create a urban fabric able to join the future linear park situated along the east tangential and the existing inhabited nucleus of Ponte Lambro. The pro-cedure consists in proposing an inhabited linear mesh, which resumes that of Ponte Lambro itself, but which can be transformed, at the same time, into something differ-ent, due to the presence of the park. The green space has in fact the force to enter inside the project, bending and shaping the buildings; going on towards the denser part of the project, the green persists, but it is transformed in a more urban green, constructed and functional to the pedestrian paths. The project turns out perceptively divided in two zones, separated from a large central boulevard, twisting along the whole site. It assumes crucial importance in its central part, where the curve is increased to create a peculiar urban space of connection with the central public square.Buildings are also divided in two different types: the longitudinal system, constituted by a very long building that forms a continuous curtain along the entire boulevard, and the transversal system, constituted by terraced buildings, reconstructing a con-tinuous urban mesh, placed side by side to the lines of the green spaces. These last buildings present a solid starting point inside the park, constituted by the presence of towers that mark the point of departure of the whole transversal system.

Starting from the analysis of the study cases and from the design research work, the project is based on the declination of a module, the cube of 8m side, chosen for its flexibility in terms of forms, for its possibility to operate on various plastic disposi-tions and, above all, for its favorable possibilities in terms of inner organization and exposure of the facades.Along with the compositive and typological search, it has been privileged the aspect of social sustainability in the form of a cohousing project: this program heads at the creation of a nucleus of common activities and of an inner organization, directed to the youngest generations and newly formed families. The choice of this topic affects the project, characterizing all the typological issues and the functional choices. As a consequence, the conception of common open spaces become crucial into the design process: they are a sort of bond along the various inhabited units and, at the functional level, they convey various services to inhabitants. The aim of the open spaces has been therefore directed towards two main topics: on one side, the choice of cohousing, that has led to the creation of gardens and recreational spaces and, on the other side, the sustainability, that has led to the recovery and the exploitation of rain waters thanks to the rain garden system.
