Unique House – Final Project

For the final project, we were required to create a in a unique location, one which you would not have expected to find it. The challenge was that you were required to put it in two-point perspective, and choose your horizon line, ground plane, and your station point. Originally, I got my inspiration from a music box, which I wanted to place on a dresser. Once I designed that, I thought it needed more, so I connected the dresser to the music box by adding piano keys to the side of the dresser; the 3 open drawers are reflected as well with the 3 stairs leading into the music box. Going form there, I created a story from classic fairy tales in which dragons stole shiny things from princesses, and through that, the rest of the drawing bloomed. Rough stones were put for the walls replicating old castles, along with heavy timber beams. The floor was made of carefully cut stone, as jagged stone would not be nice to walk upon, even with dragon feet. A mirror was then added to add definition and depth to the space. The final addition was the opening, to show a closure and an encouragement to keep imagining. This whole project drew on our skills we acquired in the first half of the semester and were showcased in this project.
