ARE YOU INTERESTED IN ARCHAEOLOGY?
This 2‐week field course provides an immersion learning opportunity to gain hands‐onexperience in archaeological site surveying while earning 3 college credits staying at theRaystown Field Station. Participants will learn to: 1) identify prehistoric artifacts; 2) use lasersurvey instruments to collect three‐dimensional spatial data; 3) create GIS base maps; 4)Identify and describe soils; and 5) excavate shovel test pits. Whether you plan to pursue agraduate degree in anthropology, work in cultural resource management, or are justinterested in archaeology, this is a great chance to become versed in the field methods andequipment used by professional archaeologists.
