Project Description BHM was appointed by Arawak Port Development Limited for the construction of the landside facilities for the new Port on Arawak Cay to service the island of New Providence and a vital link for goods transfer to the Family Islands. The works included:- Bulk earthworks and preparation for terminal areas Asphalt and concrete surfacing to Container stacking areas All associated ancillary works Construction of access and service roadways Utilities, drainage, lighting, and landscaping for terminal areas Demolition of two earthen water reservoirs and ancillary works Electrical and telecom works. www.bhm.construction

    Background

    The Baha Mar Resort (also known as The Bahamian Riviera) is located on the world famous Cable Beach in Nassau. The resort will feature four elite hotels (SLS Lux, Rosewood, Grand Hyatt & the Bahamar Casino Hotel) and a state-of-the-art convention facility, including 2,000-seat performing Arts Centre and Art Gallery. Amenities will include the 18-hole, 72-par championship Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

    Project Description

    BHM as part of a joint venture were contracted by China State Construction America for the construction of the major infrastructure works on one of the largest resort developments in the Caribbean. Scope of works included:

    • Installation of utility services, potable water, storm water,drainage, sanitary sewer, reclaim water, gas, electrical distribution,external lighting.

    • New car parking areas for the resort, employees, and patrons;

    • New roadways into the resort.

    • Hard landscaping, decorative sidewalks, waterside place andHotel Porte Cochère’s

    • Tennis Court construction

    • Injection and cooling well construction

    • The Design and Build of main entry lake and showcase fountainwater feature and all associated MEP works including lake filtrationand water flow and return systems

    • Three pedestrian bridges

    Background

    BHM were awarded this scheme following on from the successful completion of the Harrold Road project. BHM assisted the client in reaching their budget by offering a number of value engineering savings, including the use of swales in lieu of a gravity drainage system. The implementation of a phased traffic management solution within a highly trafficked, urban area was of significant importance to the delivery of the project.

    Project Description

    BHM were employed by the Ministry for Public Works and Transport to carry out the following scope of works:

    • Site clearance and bulk earthworks

    • Stabilisation of base material

    • New utility ducts

    • New road drainage system

    • Road lighting and electrical work

    • Kerbing & sidewalks

    • Realignment of roadway and roundabouts

    • Rehabilitation of Harrold Road Roundabout to allow for new filterlanes and increased traffic capacity

    Balmoral Residence BHM CO. LTD

    Background

    The Balmoral Development is a gated community comprising a total of 70 single family lots, located on the south side of Stanford Drive. As part of sub-division works, BHM were initially employed by Balmoral Development Ltd to carry out site clearance and bulk earthworks on the project. Having successfully delivered this element of the works, the client had the confidence to negotiate significant additional works including the installation of a gravity and forced sewer system, water main, road sub base and hot mix asphalt paving. The works took place on a congested site as the lots were built while BHM carried out the subdivision element. BHM liaised closely with other contractors to ensure the works progressed smoothly and safely.

    BHM were employed by Balmoral Developments to carry out the following scope of works:

    Project DescriptionBHM was appointed as a major specialist subcontractor to support and collaborate with the main contractor, Jose Cartellone Construcciones Civiles. The project included the major reconstruction and improvement of numerous roads within the urban environment of Nassau. Much of the works were undertaken out of busy commuter hours to minimise disruption to the general public and road users. The works for BHM being predominately:-

    • All base course works

    • Full depth reconstruction of the existing roads

    • Earthworks and full depth construction of new roads

    • All asphalt surfacing works

    • Associated sidewalk and concrete pavements.

    BackgroundThe new National Stadium is in the heart of New Providence on a 450 acre plot which includes access roads, 15,000 capacity parking, a recreational park, velodrome cycling track, athletes’ village - complete with facilities for American football, baseball and softball stadiums. The whole complex includes commercial and press facilities.

    To achieve the National Stadium in this key location, the existing hot rod drag racing strip and other facilities had to first be successfully relocated.

    Project DescriptionBHM was the lead partner of the Joint Venture contracted by the Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas for the construction of infrastructure works for the National Stadium together with major works for the overall National Sporting Complex Development. Works being undertaken included: • 4 Major roadways to supplement the New Providence Road

    Network and provide stadium access;• 4 Major junction improvements along Yellow Elder Way,

    Thompson Boulevard and Baillou Hill Road;• Stadium parking areas with ancillary works;• Utility, drainage and landscaping for Stadium surrounds;• Upgrade of the existing waste water treatment plant for the

    Greater Oakes Field and Yellow Elder Area;• Relocation and upgrade of drag racing track to International

    Hot Rod Association compliance.

    West Bay Street RealignmentBHM CO. LTD

    BackgroundBaha Mar, hotel development and major infrastructure is set on 3,000 feet of white-sand beach just 12 minutes from Nassau’s newly expanded Lynden Pindling International Airport. The resort features an elite collection of hotel brands with gaming, entertainment, private residences, shopping and natural attractions that reflect an authentic Bahamian experience.

    Amenities include the 18-hole, 72-par championship Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, a state of the art convention facility, which includes a 2,000-seat performing arts centre and art gallery.

    The whole project has required major new and upgraded infrastructure including new highways, reinforced power and other utility supplies support by a full upgrade of Nassau International Airport.
