KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Asset dec-laration documents presented by over 3,200 offi cials to the former Public Authority for Anti-corruption
no longer have legal value since the executive regulations of the new anti-graft authority will be released any moment.
Assistant Secretary General for As-set Declaration at the newly constitut-ed Public Authority for Anti-Corrup-
tion Halah Al-Duwaehi affi rmed this recently, noting the new authority was established to repeat procedures with utmost precision to ensure privacy of the personalities involved.
She declared that asset declaration should be regarded as a document in
favor of its owner rather than use it against him. “This is the right step for ensuring transparency and credibility”, she stressed.
She stated that segments of lead-ers; executives and supervisors such as directors and their equivalents in
the hierarchies of administration are all included in the law. She continued that the law includes military offi cers, diplomats and civilians in government departments, agencies, public institu-tions and all authorities with affi liated or independent budgets whenever they
hold the positions temporarily or per-manently.
She reiterated the law specifi ed those involved with State Audit Bureau such as chairmen, vice chairmen, undersec-retaries, directors and technical em-ployees.
