This four-part series will delve into how to improve

gut health and increase your mental and physical

well-being. Learn how to manage unwanted digestive

symptoms through methods of mindfulness and

emerging research supporting a FODMAP dietary

approach. Uncover the science behind how certain

foods trigger GI issues and how to avoid them. This

is a progressive series that will take you from A-Z,

beginning with mindfulness concepts, then dietary

approaches to limit trigger foods through a 6-week

elimination diet. Follow-up midway through the

elimination period for support and complete the series

with your personalized plan. This class will change the

way you see food and provide you with the knowledge

and confidence to eat well and feel great.

Foundation of Flavor: April 5, 6 - 7:30 pm

Herbs, spices and seasonings are pretty much the

same things, right? WRONG! In this session, we will

explore the wonderful world of flavor. We will also look

at Oils and Vinegars, Stocks, Sauces and Thickeners.

We will practice the lost art of Roux making too!

Victorious Vegetable Cookery: April 12, 6 - 7:30 pm

By now we all know we should be eating the

“rainbow”. Consuming those colorful fruits and

vegetables can become a little daunting if we are

unsure of how to prep them, how to cook them and

especially if we don’t even know how to pronounce

them! In this session, we will prepare some common

and not so common veggies using a variety of different

cooking techniques to help you get your family asking

for “more veggies please”!

More than “Meats” the Eye: April 19, 6 - 7:30 pm

Meat is a popular source of protein in our culture and

let’s face it, it just plain tastes good! However, if you

really want to maximize your meal’s flavor, texture

and overall appeal there are a few things you need to

know. We will learn how things like salt, heat, time and

moisture affect our dinner.

Pasta, Potatoes & Rice, Oh My!: April 26, 6 - 7:30 pm

Few things are more comforting than mashed potatoes

or a steaming hot bowl of freshly made pasta. In this

session, we will focus on proper carbohydrate cookery.

We will make a light and fluffy rice pilaf and also pasta

from scratch!

Cooking classes are non-refundable. Cooking classes

can be cancelled greater than one week in advance

for credit towards a future class. Cooking classes

cancelled with less than 7 days notice will be lost (due

to advance preparation and purchasing). If Ways to

Wellness cancels a class, a full refund will be given.

Weather: Generally, Ways to Wellness does not cancel

classes due to weather. Please plan ahead if your

preference is to not drive in inclement conditions.
