OUR MISSION
Mary, Mother of the Church parishioners are called to be the

Kingdom.

Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord
Jesus Christ is ALIVE! (No foolin’!!!)
The grave is not the end-of-the-line. The grave is never the end-of-the-line! There is more! …not just for Jesus, for us as well.
Because of Jesus, all darkness, all sadness, all sorrow, all pain, and all death will reach the end-of-the-line. They will be no more! …someday…for us as well.
Even now we can experience this future promise to come…whenever a burden is lightened, food is shared, a smile is exchanged, forgiveness is offered, and encouragement is spoken.
May our Easter “Alleluias” add joy and life to our hearts! May our Easter “Alleluias” energize us to be faithful and helpful to one another so we may build up the Kingdom of Heaven right here on earth!
“Building Our Future Together” has been our theme for the goal of a Parish Hall, Religious Education Center, Music Ministry Room, and Church maintenance and enhancements. We have begun using our parish hall for a pancake breakfast, Palm Sunday processions, Holy Thursday Eucharistic procession, and other gatherings. It has already made a difference to our parish life.
We have seen what all our efforts can accomplish when they have God at the center. We can feel it in our hearts.
May Christ be more and more alive in us as we look forward to the day of fulfillment!
On behalf of Deacon Sage and the parish staff: Happy Easter to all!
Yours in the Risen Lord, Father Konopa

Building Our Future Together
Happy Easter! Even if we should happen to receive a surprise April snowfall, Easter brings thoughts of flowers, trees leafing out, digging in the garden, and bringing out the patio furniture. Here at our church we see progress being made on our land-scaping project around the new building and in the west campus area.
Among the trees that will be planted along Horton Street are 3 Jack Ornamental Pear trees and 2 Ivory Silk Japanese Lilac trees. All 5 of these will flower in the spring. Along Weston Street we will add more Gingko and Linden trees so that our two block area will now be lined with trees. On 19th Street we will add one more Locust tree to the 2 that are already established.
On the west side of the new Parish Hall building a Columnar Norway Spruce will be planted (along with an electrical source for Christmas lights); and on the east side, 3 Black Hills Spruce will be planted (also with an electrical source). Along the east and west sides of the Parish Hall building there will be a variety of shrubs and flowering plants to add color.
Some time ago a parishioner donated a large, out-door, white fiberglass statue of Mary. We plan to create a small “shrine” area on the west side of the storage garage with 5 Narrow Juniper trees as a back-drop to the statue. Similarly, we will also add 4 Narrow Juniper trees as a backdrop to the statue of “Mary and the Children” on Weston Street near the parish office door.
In the open expanse on our west side, the area will be hydro-seeded and several trees will be planted including Marmo Maple, Kentucky Coffee, and Eastern White Pine.
Landscaping also includes restoring the small, private yard and patio immediately to the west of the rectory. The area will have a privacy fence with two maple trees to create some shade in a few years.
Two water retention areas (or bio-filters) will also be installed. One, larger area, will be just north of the new parking area and the smaller one will be near the SW corner of the new building. The plantings in those two areas will follow DNR specifications.
Preparations are also being made for the installa-tion of concrete … sidewalks, curbing, the rectory patio, and an area for the Chicken Que charcoal pits. Mathy Construction will then install the driveway (from Weston to Horton Street) and the new west side park-ing area with a goal of completion for the May 10 Chicken-Que.
It will be a joy to see these landscaping im-provements completed … and even more joy to see them in a few years as the plantings grow and ap-proach maturity! May God’s mercy and favor continue to be with us and grant success to our work as we Build Our Future Together. Happy Easter!
