the first West Coast Computer Faire

It was manufactured in its Plant in California and introduced on the markets on April 16, 1977

Designed to appeal to a greater market than computer hobbyists

Lisa and Macintosh The Lisa project evolved into a project to design a

powerful personal computer with a graphical user interface(GUI) that would be targeted toward business customers

The Lisa was a more advanced system than the Macintosh of that time in many respects. It had protected memory, cooperative multitasking, and a more sophisticated hard disk based operating system

Lisa and Macintosh Moreover, it had a built-in screensaver, an

advanced calculator with a paper tape and RPN, support for up to 2 megabytes (MB) of RAM, expansion slots, a numeric keypad and data corruption protection

Sales were great but the company was taxed heavily since production was in the USA

Attempts at Reinvention After learning several painful lessons after

introducing the bulky Macintosh Portable in 1989, Apple introduced the PowerBook in 1991, which established the modern form factor and an ergonomic layout of a laptop computer

As the products begun to gain market recognition, Apple Inc decided to manufacture more products but labor costs and taxes posed as a threat

Road to Success With the high demand of Apple’s products after the

introduction of its sophisticated and renowned products such as the iphone, i-mac and ipod, it decided to open subsidiaries in parts of the world where labor and taxes are cheap such as China and Taiwan to increase revenue as the company was heavily taxed in the United States

Foxconn Plants Steve jobs contacted Foxconn, the world's largest

maker of electronic components to help in the production of apple products

Each of the Foxconn plants produces 10,000 ipads every day and 12000 iphones everyday
