Generator Sizing Report

The generator sizing criteria for Redlands and Cottonwood Booster Pump station are based on the

following:

Design criteria:

Maximum Voltage Dip: 20%

Maximum Frequency Dip: 20%

Generator loads:

1. 125HP motor with VFD and 110% current limit

2. 100HP motor with VFD and 110% current limit

3. 15KVA transformer loads

Generator Steps:

Step 1 loads: 125HP motor and 15KVA transformer loads

Step 2 loads: 100HP motor

The generator sizing software used for this project is Caterpillar’s Specsizer. See Appendix A for details

calculation report.

Conclusion:

To provide backup power for 125HP motor, 100HP motor and 15KVA transformer loads, a minimum of

250KW rated generator will be needed. See Appendix B for generator cutsheet, dimensions, integral fuel

tank and sound attenuation enclosure information.
