organization of the project’s program. However, the Contractor is fully responsible for verifying and conforming to all site constraints and characteristics; and all program, code and guideline requirements referenced and contained within this Contract.

2.2 GEOTECHNICAL

2.2.1 GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION

Existing geotechnical information is available for the project site. All site specific geotechnical data required to develop foundations, materials, earthwork, and other geotechnical related design and construction activities for this project are included in Appendix B-3.

2.2.2 FOUNDATIONS

For Site Adapt buildings and structures in Appendix B-1, the foundations shall be as per the standard drawings. Standard buildings and structures with foundation designs based on 96 kPa (2000 psf) soil bearing will not be required to be redesigned if lower allowable soil bearing values have been determined unless unique circumstances have been determined by USACE-AEN and the Contractor has been directed to perform a redesign.

2.3 CIVIL

2.3.1 MINOR DEMOLITION

Minor demolition is required prior to construction of new work. Clear and remove any debris in areas where work is to occur. At the ASP Building 126, saw cut openings in the existing concrete walls at each end of the building, refer to section 2.8.2.3 ENTRY POINTS ASP BUILDING 126. All demolished material is to be properly disposed of off-site. Site grading is required and shall conform to the requirements of Section 01015 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.

2.3.2 GRADING

a. The Contractor shall follow the provided site grading and drainage design in strict accordance with the construction drawings and technical specifications. The Contractor is required to coordinate with the COR to determine in the grading and drainage plan included in Appendix B-1 needs to be raised or lowered accordingly to match the mass grading options and coordinate any material that needs to be stockpiled, or removed off-site. Refer to Section 01015 for additional details. The Contractor shall perform complete final site grading after the installation of all required drainage structures if necessary and after installation of any other buried utilities or other project components. Final grades shall match the design elevations provided and shall be within the allowable margins.

b. The Contractor’s shall ensure that positive drainage is maintained throughout the construction process so that ponding does not occur. The Contractor shall accommodate storm water runoff through and around the project site at all times. Storm water runoff shall be directed away from all buildings and structures at all times.

2.3.3 HARDSCAPE

The Contractor shall construct the required roads, access drives, parking, sidewalks and stairs as indicated in the Site Plan included in Appendix B-1 and per Section 01015 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.

2.3.3.1 ROADS

The Contractor shall construct the road network layout to provide access to all new ASP access points, new Motor Pool, Propane Storage Area, and any other required feature of work that requires vehicle access. Access to the ASP shall be concrete, access to the new Motor Pool and Propane Storage Area shall be aggregate.
