PROJECT PROPOSAL PACKAGE OVERVIEWApplicants are encouraged to review the Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) Applicant Handbook Stream 1: Capital Investment Projects prior to completing the project proposal. The Handbook was developed to assist applicants in preparing their submissions to the IFIT program. It provides guidance on the type of information to be included in the application form and describes the additional documents that are required as part of a complete project proposal package. It also explains how the IFIT program will review submissions in a consistent, fair, and transparent manner and how the program will communicate with applicants at different stages of the process.

Please confirm that all mandatory attachments are included as per the project proposal package checklist at this end of this document. Incomplete project proposal packages will not be reviewed.

PART 4: MANDATORY CRITERIAApplicants must demonstrate how they meet the IFIT program’s Mandatory Criteria. Applicants that are not eligible recipients or do not propose eligible projects will not be given further funding consideration.

Eligibility statements provided by the applicant should be supported with sufficient information to allow the program to confirm eligibility based on the application package. Failure to clearly demonstrate that the project meets every mandatory criterion may result in the project being eliminated from funding consideration.

produce forest products in an existing forest product facility (for example, pulp, paper, or solid/engineered wood products facility)

ANNEX C: FINANCIAL ANALYSIS WORKBOOK The financial analysis workbook is provided in a separate Excel file, which is available for download on the IFIT program website. A completed workbook is required as a mandatory attachment to the project proposal package. Instructions for completion are included in the workbook.

The workbook will provide financial information on the applicant and the project, including company financial projections, a listing of key equipment, and a breakdown of partner contributions.
