V5000 Pre-Qualification Process
Pre-Qualification Steps
Step 1 Confirm original OE calibration in ECM
Step 2 Check ECM for active/passive diagnostic codes Discuss any repair as necessary
Step 3 Complete Visual Inspection
check oil quality and oil analysis history Take oil sample and/or change oil if required
inspect hoses, belts, idlers, tensioners Adjust or replace as necessary
check coolant condition Service if required
check air & fuel filters Replace if needed
if equipped with a DPF, check for cracks Replace if required
Step 4 Disable any aftermarket rev or road speed governor
Step 5 Perform chassis dyno test – confirm engine meets rated power & torque
Step 6 Check & record engine blow-by in “inches” of water column (16” maximum”)
Step 7 Re-enable any aftermarket rev or road speed governor after pre-qualification steps
