Agenda: 1. Book Talk - In order to prepare one another

for continued reading, we are going to provide a quick reviews for one another.

2. Harlem Renaissance – An introduction to the cultural movement and its art and music.

Homework: Read _____________ and interpret it from a historical perspective (applying what you learned during today’s class).

Book Talk – 5 minutes to prepare: Because we are constantly considering what

future books to read, it’s helpful to consider one another’s opinions.

Meet with small groups from the past two days and prepare a brief synopsis of the novel. One person from the group will present, and consider the following questions:

What was it about?

Was it interesting?

Would you recommend it to others? To some people but not others? Explain.
