JUST A THOUGHT!

It’s hard to believe that by the time you receive this edition of THE CONNECTOR, it will be July. Where does the time go? Summer is a great time full of fun, activity and vacations and I hope we all enjoy a great getaway. However, let me encourage you… when you are in town, we need you in Bible study and Worship. When you do go out of town, don’t forget to leave your tithes and offerings. How easy it is to go out and spend God’s money and sometimes we do it without even realizing it. Just a thought! Hats off and a HUGE “Sal-lute” and “Thank You” to Emily Justice, VBS Director, and ALL the workers who served so faithfully and courageously in Vacation Bible School. Thank you Emily for your leadership! What a great school we had this year! Several children surrendered their lives to Christ, and seeds of the Gospel were planted that will be watered and one day harvested. Thank you, all of you, for your ministry to our boys and girls and to our community. Sunday School Teachers and Class Leaders. We need you to contact those who are absent in your class each week. Let them know they are missed and they are needed. This is something we must do faithfully each week. This does three things:

First, it lets people know we miss them and that we notice they are not attending;

Second, it helps them feel connected and it also encourages them to return;

Third, it helps us discover ministry needs that we might not have discovered without that contact.

Please, each week, have your in-reach leaders and care group leaders follow up with those absent. Also, please give focused attention to prospects for your class.

Include them in your class activities!

People are looking for a place to connect and I can’t think of a better place to connect than Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. All Wednesday evening ministries and activities will begin August 1, 2018. Please mark your calendars and plan to be involved in all that God is doing at Mt. Harmony. July 1, 2018, I will begin a series on the church and revival. The approach will be different than similar sermon series in the past on the topic of revival. Plan now to be a part of what God is doing through our worship of Him! I trust your summer is going well and many of you are finding time to spend with families on vacation. I encourage family time and those wonderful events we call family vacation. However, please know that when you are not here, you are missed! You are loved and appreciated Pastor Randal

Boomers & Beyond

The Boomers & Beyond is an active group of adults ages 55 and up.

One Wednesday morning each month, the group gathers for a

Covered Dish Luncheon. There are also several music opportunities

and activities especially for this group.

Save-it-forward Food Ministry Save-it-forward Ministry provides food for families in need in our local schools. Please visit our Save-it-forward kiosk located in the 1st

floor elevator lobby. Each week you will find a shopping list on the kiosk. All donations can be brought back and put in the plastic tubs

in that lobby.

Summer is a very important time for donations as the children are out of school and do not have lunches provided during this time.

Vacation Bible School 2018

Thanks to all who worked in Vacation Bible School this year. There were 45 volunteers from Mt. Harmony and On Mission Church as well as some student volunteers from several area Christian Schools. They all had their game on working as a team sharing Jesus with the ninety children that attended VBS this year. Also, thanks to the volunteers that furnished the hospitality room with wonderful snacks for the workers each day. The VBS offering for the week was $247.01. The VBS Mission Project for the week was collecting snacks and bottled water for the Children’ Group Home at Christian City in Fayetteville. We thank God for each person that participated in VBS from directors to and especially for the children that came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior this week. LOVE GOD… LOVE OTHERS… SERVE THE COMMUNITY... REACH THE WORLD...! - that’s what VBS is all about!

The summer is flying by, and it is hard to believe we are already talking about the next school year!

VBS was a huge hit amongst our WEE families with 14 children from the WEE school attending each day! This is a huge ministry opportunity for Mt. Harmony as this was the highest attendance from WEE families on record. Thank you to Emily Justice for all your hard work along with all the Mt. Harmony and On Mission volunteers.

We are busy working hard to make the 2018-2019 school year great! School starts August 1st, and we are so excited to send our teachers to a Weekday Early Education training at Woodstock Baptist Church over the summer.

The teachers will also attend a CPR/1st Aid training Thursday, 7/26/18, at 10am. We would love to open this up to any church members interested in obtaining CPR certification. The cost is $35 per person. Please let Susan Lewis know if you are interested in attending this training by Monday, 7/23/18.
