Just a Thought

This morning I was reminded of some wise counsel and wanted to share it with you. “LOOK TO ME AS YOUR JOYFUL FOCUS. You were made for Joy and I am the boundless, overflowing Source of delight in your life.

I never run out of anything because I am infinite. If you draw too much from other pleasures, they will eventually let you down. The nature of addiction is that you need more and more of a substance to get the same effect as before. This is a self -destructive trap. However, the more you make Me your FOCUS, the less dependent you are on other things. You can still enjoy the good gifts I provide, but you don’t need to grasp onto them, trying to milk every possible bit of pleasure from them.

Learn to fix your gaze on Me even as the world parades before you. Whisper My Name in remembrance that I am near, and tell Me about what troubles you. Thank Me for the things you enjoy – loved ones, shelter, food, sunlight, starlight, and especially My glorious Presence. Seek MY Face and MY will; look to Me and My strength.” (Jesus Always, Sarah Young) Those are really good words of counsel for all of us. As we… His people… “who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Remember to pray!

Pray for God’s Wisdom and Direction as we move forward.

Pray for our hearts to be broken for those who are lost.

Pray that we would be tenaciously willing to serve the Lord through Mt. Harmony.

Pray for those without Christ… specifically by name.

Pray that we will all be faithful in our Sunday Morning LifeGroup and Worship Attendance.

Pray that we will all be faithful, vocal, and consistent witnesses for Christ.

Pray that we will all Love God! Love Others! Serve the Community! Reach the World! In the next few weeks, I will be establishing a Leadership Team. The purpose of this Leadership Team will be to “determine the focus and scope of our ministry and mission (both now and in the future); Use resources wisely; Identify priorities; Coordinate the church calendar of activities; and Enrich fellowship. The Leadership Team will consist of full time ministerial staff, our church team leaders, Deacon Chairman, VBS Director, etc. and will champion the mission, vision and values of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Please pray for this Team! Our first item on the agenda will be to RE-DREAM THE DREAM! By the way, I want each of you to know that you are loved and appreciated. God is truly at work, leading, redirecting, and changing lives. We are in this journey together and we are learning and growing together. We are all very blessed to be a part of His Divine plan. I am truly blessed to be your pastor. This week look around your mission field and TELL IT…! Share Jesus with someone! Not only will it change their life, it will change your life as well. Blessings of Grace and Peace, Pastor Randal

work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,

WEE (Weekday Early Education)

We can’t believe the school year is almost over!!! With registration in full swing for the 2018-2019 school year, we are so excited for all that God has in store for us! We officially have an additional 3-year old class as well as a K4 class, which means lots of kiddos walking these hallways.

And, following right along with our mission of “Love God, Love Others, Serve the Community, Reach the World”, God has blessed us with more families to minister to.

We have the potential for several teacher positions opening up, so please pass the message along to those that might be qualified.

Don’t miss our end-of-year program/Graduation on May 24th at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary!

We have also had the honor of hosting a weekly Bible study for mothers of young children (Birds on a Wire) here at the church primarily consisting of WEE Mothers! We are 6 weeks in and have been amazed at the turnout and transformations happening! We would like to send out a big thank you to Mt. Harmony for supporting us in this ministry opportunity!

Thank you for all your support of the WEE program, and please feel free to come check us out and see the excitement in these hallways!

Please join Mt. Harmony and On Mission Church June 11-14 from 9:00am-12:00pm as we grab our

megaphones, lace up our cleats, and tune up our instruments. As we fill up the offensive line, sideline,

and drum line, our players, cheerleaders, and band

members will realize God has given us His ultimate

playbook. He wants us to join His team, train hard,

celebrate salvation, and encourage one another.

“Get in the spirit”... today with Game On VBS (for

students who just completed Kindergarten through

Georgia Baptist Children’s Home Special Offering Day Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13th

Theme: Let your light so shine—Matthew 5:16 There are almost 13,000 children in the foster care system in Georgia. There are mothers in your community struggling with homelessness and overcoming domestic violence. There are children being pushed into human trafficking in our backyards. Right now there are families and children in need of light during their darkest hours. Every day at Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, we help children and families navigating darkness find their spark through His light. In 2017, we helped 1,215 children and their families find a glimmer of hope through a variety of innovative programs designed to bring spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. It is not an easy task and we need your help to care for these individuals. Since we do not receive Cooperative Program funding, we are dependent on our Georgia Baptist churches across the state that place us in their church budgets and/or recognize Children’s Home Day. We hope all of our Baptist Churches across Georgia will recognize this special day on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13, 2018.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

Georgia Baptist Children’s Home Special Offering

Thank you, Mt. Harmony, for giving to missions through the Cooperative Program. I along with your missionaries in Georgia, North America and across the world appreciate your love and sacrificial support. Because of your faithfulness in giving, we exceeded our budget in 2017. Georgia Baptists led all 42 Southern Baptist state conventions in Cooperative Program and designated missions offerings as reported by the Southern Baptist convention in January 2018. Your gifts truly do make a difference in advancing the Good News of Jesus Christ in Georgia, North America and around the world! One of the exciting areas that your mission gifts are at work in Georgia is in the area of children and youth. The Georgia Baptist Mission Board is currently engaged in an emphasis upon reaching the next generation. We want to partner with our churches to help them reach children and youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2016, three children per church were baptized and only one teen per church was baptized. Not only do we want to see more children and teens baptized, but we want them to stay in church when they become adults so they can continue to grow in their faith and lead the next generation to the Lord. To learn more about reaching the next generation and to obtain resources, go to www.reachingnextgen.com. May God bless Mt. Harmony Baptist Church this year as you faithfully serve the Lord in 2018. Sincerely, J. Robert White

OUR MISSION IS HELPING PEOPLE FIND GOD We’ve seen the transformation hundreds of times – people who came to us full of doubt and uncertainty become secure in the knowledge of their rightful place in God’s great kingdom. The change may start slowly – in a Bible Study class or choir participation, perhaps – but once it begins, it picks up speed. Serving Jesus together, shared experiences, time spent in prayer – all bring us closer to our highest calling. Take the first step toward personal renewal – join us for services this week! Above all else, Mt. Harmony is a church that loves Jesus, loves people, and loves our community. We're just real people, but we are passionate about helping people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Mt. Harmony partners with more than 45,000 churches (16 million Christians) who call themselves Southern Baptists. Together we support 10,000 missionaries in 154 nations around the world.
