What was the planet like when dinosaursroamed the Earth? Which dinosaurs wereherbivores or carnivores? We’ll “dig” for thoseanswers and have our own archeologicalexpedition, make fossils for future scientists todiscover and visit a museum to hunt downcreatures from a time long gone.

Embark on an exciting adventure over thenext 10 weeks and learn about differentperiods in history as we ‘time travel’ fromthe Stone Age to the Space Age. We’llexplore how ancient people used the sunto tell time and later invented precisionclocks. We’ll also study how the Earth’srotation and orbit around the sun helpedman develop the calendar we stilluse today.

Campers will step into the world ofknights and learn about chivalry,courage and loyalty. Choose yourown colors and banner whileexploring the sports of the time.Discover the meals the knights ateand sample some of the food whilelearning how it was cooked andprepared long before electricity.

During Week 3, students will explore theIce Age when the planet was covered withglaciers and polar ice sheets. We’ll conductscience experiments on the properties ofwater, make our own crystals and learnhow mammoths and mastodons survived inthis brutal climate. We’ll also make andenjoy ice cream.

Campers will discover new ways of thinking and solvingproblems as they delve into the period known as theRenaissance. Learn about the famous artists, poets,scientists and mathematicians of the time. Students willwrite poetry, create artistic masterpieces and newinventions using the same creative techniques used bythe great thinkers of the Renaissance.

This week campers will have achance to discover the trends andstyles from the 80s. We’ll take alook at how fashion, music and dance represented the decadeand still influence us today. We’ll also learn about the greatthinkers who brought us the first personal computers and learnto “moonwalk,” as well as how a nation turned its focus towardbetter health through exercise and diet.

Science fiction becomes oftenscience fact. Campers willexplore the role of the scientists,engineers, astronauts and pilotswho helped a nation cometogether to do what some said was impossible as werocket into The Space Age. Watch a clip of man firstwalking on the moon and check out life on theSpace Station. We’ll also explore new foods andbeverages that were invented for life in zero gravity.

Discover the exciting times of the 20s and 30s - the fashion, architecture, music and dance. We’ll plan and create models of our own art deco buildings, learn to dance the Charleston and explore the history of jazz music.

We’ll also “Time Travel” to the Wild West and explore the history of the way theUS grew from “sea to shining sea”. We’ll learn about the buffalo and cattle thatpopulated the plains and the lives of the brave men and women who dared to “go West!” Campers will discover how we stayed in touch long before thetelephone through the telegraph and the Pony Express.

What do you want to be whenyou grow up? Explore theendless possibilities of what youcould do in the future. Usingexperiences from the past, whatinvention would make for abetter tomorrow? Our final weekoffers campers an opportunity togive back to the community andleave a legacy that will beremembered for many years to come.
