On October 9th, 2019, Marche Region and ITACA (the Italian institute for innovation and transparency of procurement and the environmental compatibility) will organize a workshop, on Environmental sustainability in construction as a side event of the European Week of Regions and Cities – “thematic priority 3. A greener Europe”. An opportunity to give more visibility at EU level to the Italian Operational tool for assessing sustainability recently published by UNI (Italian National Standards Body) – UNI/PdR 13:2019 “Environmental sustainability in construction - Operational tools for assessing sustainability” based on the Protocollo ITACA.

Protocols for assessing the energy and environmental performance of buildings and, more recently of the territories, are

excellent tools to foster sustainability in construction today with the right cognition of cause. The Protocollo ITACA is a tool for

assessing the level of energetic and environmental sustainability of buildings and is designed to verify their performances with

particular reference to: materials made with low energy consumption, reduced water consumption, consumption and energy

efficiency, impact on human health, guarantee a high level of comfort, impact on the environment

In July 2019, the prassi di riferimento UNI/PdR 13:2019 "Environmental sustainability in construction - Operational tools for

assessing sustainability“ was published, updated with the introduction of the Minimum Environmental Criteria stated by the

Italian Ministerial Decree of 11 October 2017.

The prassi di riferimento is part of the "products of European standardization", as defined by Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012.

The communication strategy aims to promote maximum results and increase the application of the tool through the involvement

of representatives of the European institutions, and of the main European organizations working in the field of Environmental

sustainability in construction. The Italian Working Group intends to bring the topics, outcomes and objectives of the process and

promote a discussion between experts at international level, with the aim of aligning the past results with future prospects for an

effective implementation of energy, environmental and climate change policies.

Venue: Marche Region Bruxelles Delegation Office Rond Point Schuman 14 (7th floor) B - 1040 Bruxelles

Advanced registration is not mandatory. Maximum

capacity 100 seats.
