TeMPORARY DwellIngSwe provide modern, temporary dwellings for the workers on a construction site. Short construction time, ready-made fixtures and fittings, good facilities and long-standing experience characterize our temporary dwellings.

ClOSe PROXIMITYInstead of expending time and effort on obtaining accommodation in private homes, which in turn requires transport to and from the workplace, it may be worthwhile to order customized temporary dwellings. The workers will be close to their workplace, and can be comfortable in their surroundings in a sociable, pleasant community.

FURnISHeD ROOMSAll rooms are furnished with a bed, desk, wardrobe, chair and private washroom.

gOOD FACIlITIeSAs well as temporary dwellings, we are also able to supply needed office and service buildings with a bank, post office, shop, doctor’s and dental surgery.The shared facilities can by all means include a recep- tion area, administrative offices, canteen and welfare facilities such as a sports hall, football pitch, fitness room, Internet café, own kiosk and pub. Everything can be fitted out to suit the needs of the employees.

SHORT COnSTRUCTIOn TIMeWe assemble and lease buildings on demand and in line with current regulations. At the end of the lease period, we dismantle everything and remove the building from the plot. It is easy to add modules, or reduce the number of modules.

REFERENCE

ORMen lAnge - nORwAYOrmen lange was norway’s largest construction site village covering a total area of 60,000 m2, with capacity for almost 3,000 people.

Norsk Hydro built a large reception facility for gas from the Ormen Lange field in the Norwegian Sea on Aukra, west of Molde. Working with Bautas, Malthus had a contract with Skanska to supply all the buildings for the temporary construction-site camp.

HOTel STAnDARDSThe contract covered the establishment and hiring out of Norway’s then largest construction-site camp, covering a total area in excess of 60,000 m2. In addition to providing quarters for personnel, the contract also included establishing and hiring out temporary offices, changing rooms, service buildings, welfare buildings, a sports hall and a canteen. The contract also included establishing dedicated temporary buildings for offices, lounges, dining rooms and WCs within the works area.

OFFICIAl OPenIngThe camp was officially opened on 15 December 2004, three weeks before the occupancy deadline. All work carried out met the highest standards of health and safety.

A MIllIOn OVeRnIgHT STAYSThe construction-site village was planned with a total of 50 separate residential rigs on two storeys, each rig having 44 residential units. The result was a total of 68 residential rigs, including 2,992 ensuite rooms with WC and shower. The operating company ISS Serveringspartner ran the construction-site camp along the lines of a hotel. Thus, the residents were allocated a room for the precise time they would be working at the site, and checked out for days off or holiday.

The scheme worked extremely well and ensured very efficient and cost-effective operation.

Malthus supplied a large camp for its client Petrofac in 2011 for a gas processing plant.

The camp was designed by architects and is of top quality. It has already attracted a great deal of acclaim, and experienced project workers have described it as the most superb temporary camp ever delivered.

After completion of the first phase, the camp provided accommodation for 400. By the time the project was completed, 850 people were accommodated. The camp houses workers to build Total’s processing plant for the Laggan Tormore field in the UK sector of the North Sea.

Malthus has also supplied buildings for project offices, canteens and changing rooms on the actual construction site. This structure is approximately 4,500 m2 and offers all types of facilities, complying with the most stringent requirements. An outdoor football pitch was also supplied.

Malthus provided a construction-site camp for all 1,100 individuals at long Harbor, newfoundland, Canada.

The facility was supplied to Vale of Brazil, the second- largest mining company in the world. The camp is located in Long Harbor, Newfoundland, Canada.

Malthus has supplied a successful, modern camp to accommodate 1,000. The camp contract runs for three years with an option to extend for another two years. The first phase of the camp was delivered during summer 2010, with phases two and three following in the autumn of the same year.

All rooms are fully equipped with cabinetry, desks, TV and private washrooms. Other items supplied include a canteen, reception area, library, gym, bar and other modern common rooms and facilities covering an area of 4,500 m2.
