TRANSCRIPT
“LIFT HIM UP”
1 How to reach the masses, men of ev-’ry birth,
For an answer Jesus gave the key:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
Will draw all men unto Me.”
Refrain: Lift Him up, Lift Him up,
Still He speaks from eternity:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
Will draw all men unto Me.”
2 Oh! the world is hungry for the Living Bread,
Lift the Savior up for them to see;
Trust Him, and do not doubt the words that He said,
“I’ll draw all men unto Me.”
Refrain: Lift Him up, Lift Him up,
Still He speaks from eternity:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
Will draw all men unto Me.”
3 Don’t exalt the preacher, don’t exalt the pew,
Preach the Gospel simple, full and free;
Prove Him and you will find that promise is true,
“I’ll draw all men unto Me.”
Refrain: Lift Him up, Lift Him up,
Still He speaks from eternity:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
Will draw all men unto Me.”
4 Lift Him up by living as a Christian ought,
Let the world in you the Savior see;
Then men will gladly follow Him who once taught,
“I’ll draw all men unto Me.”
Refrain: Lift Him up, Lift Him up,
Still He speaks from eternity:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
Will draw all men unto Me.”

THEME: “PREACHING WITH A LIGHT IN IT”
“The Church That Cares”
The Grace Memorial Baptist Church 1220 North Chester Street | Baltimore, Maryland 21213
Rev. Marshall L. Barnes, Pastor
“Let My People Go”
Lesson: Exodus 5:1-9
GOLDEN TEXT:
“Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord
God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto Me in
the wilderness.” — Exodus 5:1
TODAY’S AIM:
“To note that Moses and Aaron confronted Pharaoh in the Lord’s
name, but Pharaoh scoffed at both the Lord and their request, making
the Israelites work harder than before.”
INTRODUCING THE LESSON:
In the preceding chapter, Moses and Aaron had presented their
credentials as the Lord’s emissaries to the elders of Israel. The elders
had responded with faith and humble worship, placing their full
confidence in Moses as God’s appointed deliverer (Exodus 4:29-30).
PRACTICAL POINTS:
1. God’s power is greater than any power or authority on earth
(Exodus 5:1).
2. When world leaders do not recognize God’s authority, He uses
humble things and people to teach them humility (Exodus 5:2-5).
3. Oppression and hardship are merely opportunities for God to
demonstrate the power of His love (Exodus 5:6-8).
4. We should fear only God. We have divine protection when we
live in obedience to Him (Exodus 5:8).
5. Any attempt to harm God’s people is an attack against God
Himself (Exodus 5:9).
CONCLUDING THE LESSON:
It is easy to have faith in God when life is going along smoothly
and conflicts between biblical teaching and everyday living are scarce.
But when the world, the flesh, and the devil target you for temptation,
persecution, or intense suffering, maintaining your faith is possible
only by relying on God to give you the patience and endurance to
persevere.
