been installed, can also be used for agriculture

• The types of crops that can be sown and those

that cannot be sown

• The effect of solar panels and its shadow on crops

• The effect of solar plant on the irrigation cycle

• The financial viability of the entire system

• MMS designed for a seasonal tracker optimized for 3 positionsand in 4th position mounting assembly/structure in verticalposition with respect to ground.

• MMS incorporated with different spacings so as to determinethe optimum spacing

OBSERVATIONS

• Crops with an average height of about 5-6 ft. can be sown in this type of

setup.

• Crops like millet, wheat, jowar – that grow more than 5-6ft. height –

cannot be sown.

• Vegetables can be easily sown in this system, since their average height is

3-4 ft

• Water used for cleaning the modules is proving to be detrimental for the

crops – water falls on the crops with force that sometimes damages the

flowers.

• The stand used for cleaning the modules also sometimes damages the

crops that come underneath it.

• Any fault in the underground wiring of solar plant and its repairing

adversely affects the crops, because for repair, crops above the wiring

have to be removed.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC EFFECTS

• Due to seasonal farming in this area, most of the farmers are deprived of

regular source of income & also farmers are not being able to earn

anything from their dry/uncultivated land.

• This project employees local workforce for farming & local skilled

manpower can be used for carrying out operational & maintenance

activities of Solar Power Plant.

• Additional income to farmers from land lease. The lease rent may be in

terms of Rs per year per acre of land or in terms of Rs per unit energy

generated per acre of land area.

• 2-3 families can easily benefit from such projects wherein the land is 4-5

acres and 1 MW solar plant is installed on it.
