• Longest Chance is a Strategic Partner of IATA for the introduction of RFID baggage tracking.
• Longest Chance is a member of IATA Baggage Working Group since 2013 and clearly understand the challenges, requirements, and desired outcomes.
• Longest Chance, in collaboration with IATA, has developed the Hand-to-hand RFID Baggage Tracking System to meet the airline bag tracking needs.
• IATA and Longest Chance have a 3-year collaboration in development RFID baggage tracking project.
• The Longest Chance team has 8 years experience in RFID technology and more than 200 implemented projects in retail and the logistics industry.
▶ Longest Chance is the recommended partner by IATA based on Proof of Concept.
About Longest Chance
3
MAIN GOAL
4
Create new opportunities for airlines to reduce baggage mishandling losses and to improve the
passenger experience by offering new services through the introduction of RFID technology in
baggage operations
“It would be foolish to have every airline at a busy airport each introducing their own tracking solutions when
the places being tracked are often common use” - Andrew Price, IATA’s Global Director of Airport Operations
The main goal of the IATA cooperation with Longest Chance:
5
IATA RESOLUTION 753
6
The IATA 753 Resolution (I) Effective Date:June 2018
Resolved that:IATA members shall maintain an accurate inventory of baggage by monitoring the acquisition and delivery of baggage.
7
Purpose (top 3):
- Reduce baggage mishandling- Increase passenger satisfaction- Reduce baggage fraud
Member Obligations :
- Demonstrate Delivery, of baggage when custody changes- Demonstrate acquisition, of baggage when custody changes- Provide an inventory of bags, upon departure of a flight.- Be capable of exchanging these events with other airlines as needed

The ERFID Communication Server:
• Middleware providing IT-system
interaction with the customer's RFID
infrastructure equipment.
• Allows plug-and-play hardware
ecosystem, enabling unlimited number
of RFID equipment and sensors
• Currently supports a wide range of
equipment from leading
manufacturers
• Support of international standard LLRP
(Low Level Reader Protocol) ensures
compatibility

1. Enter BHSWhen bags enter the sortation system after check-in
2. Enter Oversize AreaWhen bags enters oversized area + when bags exit an elevator
4. Transfer InductionWhen a transfer bag is inducted into the sortation system
5. Push to PierWhen bags are delivered from the BHS to the departure carrousel/pier
6. Loose loading bags to aircraftRFID antenna on the belt loader
7. Arrival CarrouselFor terminating bags as they are placed on the reclaim belts for customers
8. Arrival Oversized Reclaim AreaAt the lift, or entrance to the oversized baggage reclaim area

16
1. Pre ScreeningWhen bags require screening as they enter CTX and secondary screening
2. Post Screening For bags post CTX and secondary screening
3. Manual stationWhen unread bag come to manual encoding station
4. Manual security roomWhen bag enter/exit manual security room
These additional points are recommended for hubs and international airports where additional security issues are at play

“HAND-TO-HAND BAGGAGE” SYSTEM
Reporting
• Web based analytical engine providing data of all bags registered by the system.
• The reporting engine is very flexible and can be easily adapted to the customer needs
20
• The RFID solution developed by Longest Chance works with any equipment that supports the ISO 18000-6C standard.
• Longest Chance is using hardware of only the best quality from reliable manufacturers, resulting in the 99.9958% read rates during the pilot with IATA.

THE CHALLENGES
23
Main Challenges
1. Readability
Selecting a partner with the proven ability to reach high readability levels is of significant importance.
2. Accountability
Selecting a partner that provides the full range of products and services secures accountability.
24
The IATA trial cases
Challenge 1: Readability
• Historical trial results by IATA showed readability levels of between 95.54% to 98.78%.
• However, Longest Chance managed to achieve a readability level of 99.9958%.
• The difference in these levels translate into a significant amount of bags (next slide)
25
The readability rate differences in number of bags
Challenge 1: Readability
• Based on a potential requirement that the system should support 250M bags, a 99% readability rate results in 2.5M bags that are not read.
• Longest Chance reached 99.9958% readability in the IATA pilot, resulting in only 10K bags not read (based on 250M bags annually).
26
The readability levels depend on the following important components:
1. Quality of software2. Quality of RFID equipment3. Quality of UHF inlay (consisting of a chip and antenna)4. Quality of the bag tag with UHF inlay inside
If the airline does not control the above components by contracting one partner, high readability levels are at risk and problem solving will be challenging. Different providers will be motivated to shift responsibility to others.

Challenge 2: Accountability
