On 24-09-2011 cultural forum of the college inaugurated.
From 26th 27th aug 2011 state level cultural competition held at mysore by vishwa
manava vediek a nearly 25 students participated.
Sahyadri utsav- inter college cultural competition “sahayog utsav” conducted by
kuvempu university nearly 40 students participated in different competitions.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES:-
24-09-2011 inagural ceremony of sports.
From 27,28,29,30-08-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate chess competition held
at L.B.& SBS College Sagar. Our student participated and owned second place.
From 08,09-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate Kusti competition held at
Government first grade college shikaripura Lakshman M II BA participated in 74 Kg
and bagged second place.
On 03-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate Judo competition held at sahyadri
Arts and commerce colleges Shimoga. Rangaswamy D 3rd BA owned 3rd place
From 16,17-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate boby builder competition held
at Sri. M.V College Bhadravathi. Harish babu at 60 kg 2nd place, Yogesh H.S at 65 kg
1st place, Theja murthy at 75 kg 3rd place, jayaram A U 80 kg 3rd place.
From 28,29,30-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate Kabbadi competition held
at GFGC Ajjampura college owned 3rd place.
From 20th to 22nd Jan 2012, our college sponsored “ Inter Collegiate Women’s Sports
Meet” at mudigere, our college teams were participated and Kabaddi team of college
won the prize.
From 17th to 19th aug 2011 inter college ball badminton sports conducted at DVS college
shimoga our college team participated in it.
From 10th, 11th feb 2012 intercollege volleyball competition held at SJM college tarikere
oru college team participated in it.
From 22nd 23rd feb 2012 kho-kho competition held at SJM college tarikere our students
participated in it.

On 01,2-10-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate basket ball competition
held at D.V.S College Shimoga and owned 2nd place.
From 20,21,22-10-2011 our college hosted 25th Kuvempu university Inter
collegiate Athletic meet.
On 27-12-2011 to 01-01-2012 our students participated in inter university
basket ball competition at Sathya Bhama University of chanai.
N.C.C. ACTIVITES
Annual training camp held at paduvalahippe under Karnataka BN- NCC, 37
cadets participated from july 4th to 14th july 2011.
On August 15 and 1st November of 2011 our NCC cadets participated in district
parade on the occasion of independence day and Kannada Rajosthsava
4-02-2012 Trucking class held at Madikere NCC Officer and cadets participated.
18-02-2012 to 19-02-2012 ‘B’ Certificate examination held at Hassan 33 cadets
participated.
INTER-DISCIPLINARY PROGRAMMES STARTED.
The study of Indian constitution to Bcom students and the study of environmental studies
for BA/Bcom/BBM students started as in inter disciplinary programme.
EXAMINATION REFORMS IMPLEMENTED:-
The college is affiliated to Kuvempu university which introduced semester scheme
from the year 2003-04, students comes under this scheme must take two internal test in each
subject, carried out by the Internal Assessment Committee of the College. For the students of
commerce computer skill development and practical records were maintained.
As per university guidelines PG Departments of the college are conducting
compulsory Seminars and Assignments, Project works and Dissertation.
