Welcome!Letter from our Board Chair
"To be part of an organization like Junior Achievement implies to take risks. First, the risk of facing social
problems that we all assume but only a few are happy to deal with. We are always at risk of not being
successful in what we engage, for thousands of reasons that represent an obstacle along the path. We
are at risk of being alone, in grounds that many consider unworthy of being traveled, for which there
seems to be no solutions. Our mission presents an enormous challenge and, without a doubt, when we
decide to get on this boat we know what risks we are taking.
But despite all this, all of us at Junior Achievement perfectly know that he who doesn’t risk, doesn’t
win. The social matters that we board through our Programs represent a level of complexity that
exceeds the exclusive work of our Organization. Because of this, throughout the years, we came to
realize that we are not the only ones choosing to take these risks: hundreds, thousands of companies
truly committed with the future of young, volunteers, educational institutions, governments,
teachers, students… all of them have committed themselves with a society that we believe possible,
and this helps us to dare a Little more every day.
To create new opportunities for the Latin American young is the dream that we are making come
true. The tireless work of our teams in 31 countries of the region allows us to expand the vision of over
1 million young who benefit with our Programs every year. Young that will have more tools, who will
be entrepreneurs and will surely inspire many others.
Each period of work that comes to an end it’s a good opportunity to give thanks… for this, I want to
use these lines to recognize the commitment of many actors that makes Junior Achievement’s work
in the Americas possible. Thanks to our sponsors, for believing in us and in education as the main
transformative tool. Thanks to our volunteers, who attend to our classes with joy and enthusiasm.
Thanks to parents and teachers, who open their doors to us and allow us to work shoulder to
shoulder with them. Thanks to our beloved land, for giving away it wonders and making us proud of
our origins.
Finally, I want to give a special thanks to my coworkers at the JA Americas Regional Council for
giving me the privilege of sharing with them lots of work and mutual learning during this years.
Thanks for believing in me and for backing up my enthusiasm at every step. It has been a true
honor and I hope to keep on supporting you, maybe in a different way, but with the same Passion."
Let’s keep inspiring youth in Americas together!

Citi Foundation: 5 years empowering Women of the region
he Program Women for Development created by Citi Foundation and JA Americas is, without doubt, the emblem for the region. This project has been
recognized regionally thanks to the impact reached in thousands of women.
Being this the fisth consecutive year of implementation, the Program Women for Development that JA Americas created thanks to the support of Citi Foundation, has benefitted more than 12.000 women in 14 countries. This Program´s goal is to empower women and develop in them the entrepreneurial spirit
to contribute in a direct way with their family economy. It is focused on young women from 18 to 25 years old in vulnerable situations.
Not only they train themselves, but also are evaluated by a committee that determines the possible access to a micro credit to decrease the individual responsibility. For that end, JA allies with a micro finance institution in each country where the Program is being delivered and they all work together to provide access to new possibilities.

Brightening the Future with Scotiabank
"A way of getting closer to a future of progress for
our country is to teach our students how to be
successful. Only a few invest on oering the young
the tools that they need for their lives and my
students have learned to value this kind of initiatives
that teach them to organize their finances and to
study to gain access to better opportunities."

he JA program “The Advantages of Staying in School” was the engine of the alliance with HSBC to defend the most important transforming tool for our children:
Education. Through the joint project “Future First”, the students of schools in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Panama learned the important role that School and Education carry to their future.
Is there a more important process to the life of children than Education? With the goal of defending that premise, HSBC and JA Americas developed a project based on the Program “The Advantages of Staying in School”. This alliance that impacted 4 countries, through results that motivate to continue working to inspire our children:
