The storage capacity will soon be doubled, with four new terminals recently built in a massive wave of investments. All the existing terminals have recently expanded, are in the process of expanding or have expansion plans.

For several years now, Antwerp has been the main European distribution hub for basic and fine chemicals. It is now rapidly diver-sifying to consolidate its already significant position in the bulk chemical and petroleum markets.

(Independent) Tank storage opera-tors are integrated in the Antwerp (petro)-chemical cluster, the largest in Europe. Ample pipelines not only connect neighbouring industrial companies but also connect Antwerp to other clusters in Europe.

Antwerp, the European distribution hub for (fine) chemicals and diversifying at high speed.

The Port of Antwerp is the largestchemical cluster in europe and the most diverse in the world, with over 300 different basic chemicals being produced here. The port area com-prises 2,886 ha (7,406 acres) of industrial land, spanning the right and left banks of the river scheldt.

it is home to two of the top ten european oil refineries and four steam crackers. more than 30 international chemical producers are present, including most of the top ten global chemical producers.

The Antwerp terminals, 14 in total (11 terminal operators), are con-structed (iTC rubis Terminal Antwerp is under construction, first phase operational summer 2010) and kept up-to-date to operate in the safest, most environmentally sound manner possible and comply with all applica-ble laws, regulations and standards when it comes to safety, health, environment and quality (sheQ). each terminal is isPs-certified.

And still growing
