How Firm a Foundation
A mirror floating on the wall feels unfinished. A hanging nearly always needs something underneath to anchor it. Hang the mirror a few inches above the table top. Bridge the space with a floral or other accessory to tie the arrangement together, but don't cover up too much of the mirror.
Choose a console or table that is slightly wider than the mirror. Too small a table, and the arrangement looks top heavy. Too large, and the hanging seems lonely. We used a demilune console, because the half-moon shape allows traffic to flow more smoothly. The clumsy among us (and we know who we are) have a way of banging into sharp corners.
