Brian Chen, Director of Youth Services Division Rita Law, CPC Brooklyn Youth Services Division Deanna Seid, Project Gateway Brenda Thomas, Lile Star of Broome Street Felipe Gomez, Lile Star of Broome Street 19 • Open Door Director Mrs. Po Ling Ng received two local awards - the “New York 2014 Woman of the Year” award from Civil Aid Services, USA and Hon. William Colton, Commissioner of NYS Assembly for her dedicaon to the youth and seniors of Manhaan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Mrs. Ng also received the “Youth Champion” award from the organizaon Healthy Youth and Sophie Gerson for her many years of work with the community school board. Brian Chen was promoted to Interim Director of Youth Services in February of 2014. He previously served as the Supervisor of Queens Youth Services. Mr. Chen began working at CPC in 2006. Rita Law of Brooklyn Youth Services earned a Master’s in Counseling from Alfred University. She is currently working on obtaining her Master’s in Public Administraon from Alfred University as well. Deanna Seid of Project Gateway was selected for a Naonal Aſterschool Maers Praconer Fellowship. Developed by the Naonal Instute on Out-of-School Time at the Wellesley College Centers for Women and the Naonal Wring Project, the fellowship is a year-long professional development program that encompasses strategies to improve youth programs and pracces. Lile Star of Broome Street would like to thank Brenda Thomas who dedicated 30+ years to Lile Star and Felipe Gomez, who connues to give back to Lile Star his services even though he has rered, for their endless dedicaon to the children of our community. Mary Cheng, the director was nominated and was the Grand Marshall leading NYU’s annual Children’s Halloween Parade. ACCR is proud to congratulate two of our staff members, Celinia Yu (Provider Coordinator) and Serena Lau (Infant Toddlers Specialist) who have become cerfied as Level 2 New York State Early Learning Credenal Trainer by the New York State Associaon For the Educaon of Young Children.
