Role of ICT modules orienting on the Innovative and creative towards TeacherEducation.
1. IQAC aimed at improving the leadership qualities, Personality development and
communicative skills among B.Ed student teachers and M.Ed scholars to become the
competent teachers with good spoken English .
2. Student Feedback on Teacher Educators was conducted.
3. Comprehensive academic audit was conducted through ISO 9001: 2008
4. Since B.Ed course is for one year, IQAC took responsibilities in molding the budding student
teachers to acquire adequate communicative skills in English prior to their 40 days
Intensive teaching practice to different schools in Trichy and Karur Districts.
5. Workshop on the usage of SPSS package was conducted by IQAC with the help of
Dr.P.Muthupandy, an expert resource person and an Assistant Professor, Department of
Education, Madurai Kamaraj University in two sessions namely the Power point
presentation lecture in the forenoon and the practical in the afternoon. All the M.Ed
Scholars were trained to compute the statistical calculations of their dissertation data
collected with the help of SPSS software.
6. The faculties in-charge of Placement cell, Women grievance cell and Guidance & Counseling
cell were given responsibilities in organizing on campus interview, women students
protection and academic guidance
7. for B.Ed Students and M.Ed Scholars.

2. Encouraging the PhD research scholars fortheir data collection in Education throughsurvey method or experimental method
3. To encourage students to participate in sportsand athletic events at state or national level.
4. To Strengthen the Placement cell in order toprovide good number of placements to the B.Edand M.Ed students
Bharathidasan university finalized and approved theM.Ed Programme to be conducted in our College fromthe academic year 2014-2015.
One PhD research scholar was permitted to conduct hisexperimental research with our M.Ed scholars throughon-line LMS with the help of Moodle.com softwareThis kind of .on line learning LMS through moodle.comsoftware will be implemented from 2014-2015
Our B.Ed students participated in the sports and athleticevents conducted by our Tamilnadu Teachers EducationUniversity District Level Athletic Meet 2013-2014 0n17/03/2014 and won the OVERALL MENCHAMPIONSHIP.
We invited around 12 schools from Tiruchirappalli,Nagapattinam, and Villupuram districts in tamilnaduState to conducton campus interview in our campus torecruit competent B.Ed student teachers for theappointment as Teachers to their schools with effectfrom the academic year 2014-2015100 students were selected with good salary.

Criterion – V4. Student Support and Progression
5.1 Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about Student Support Services
1. The students were motivated and trained as self independent with academic discipline to
accomplish their academic performance through the positive values with refined
thoughts.
2. Periodical seminars and workshops were conducted for B.Ed and M.Ed (as per the
Norms of the University)
3. Soft skill communication training was given to B.Ed students for the effectiveness in
their communication.
4. Motivational programs were provided for ensuring good performance in the academic
achievements with University rank. One M.Ed candidate S.M.THENMOZI secured
University Topper First Rant in Trichirappalli District.
5. Placements were provided to B.Ed and M.Ed students.
6. Guidance and Counseling cells were functioned actively and solved the academic
problems. Citizenship Training Camp was conducted to establish cordial relationship
and comradeship and
7. Group Insurance facility was given to all the B.Ed and M.Ed students and Scholarships
were provided to the eligible students .
5.2 Efforts made by the institution for tracking the progression
1. Welfare facilities such as Insurance, Provident Fund, concessional rate of transport,
medical leave pay, medical facilities, registration to attend seminar/workshop etc were
provided to our faculties
2. Welfare facilities such as group insurance, fee concession, Uniforms, Record notebooks,
field trips, transport facilities (with nominal fee), etc were provided to the B.Ed and
M.Ed students.
3. The performance and quality of Teaching and Learning was audited by ISO 9001:2008.
4. Government Scholarships were provided to the eligible students as per the norms ofTamilnadu State. Scheduled Caste Scholarship for 94 students Rs.43,88,500
Scheduled Tribe Scholarship for 2 students Rs. 1,01,480Minority Scholarship for 36 students Rs. 4,56,000
5. The financial commitments for organizing the Inaugural function, seminar, workshops,guest lectures, citizenship Training camp and other programmes were provided from theManagement.

5.6 Details of student counseling and career guidance
Our B.Ed students and M.Ed Scholars are from the rural areas. The major strength of the students
are Women students. Hence counseling and career guidance were widely initiated for the betterment
of academic enrichment and teaching methodologies respectively through the workshop and seminar
for the improvement of their communicative pedagogic skill. We adopted the following steps:
1. Academic problems of the students were identified and solved. Since the students were UG
students or PG students, academic responsibilities were vested on them to realize their role as
responsible and competent teachers in their future career.
2. Career guidance was given to the enthusiastic students. Placement cell was strengthened and the
professors in-charge were vested responsibilities to train the students to face the interviews held in
our college campus. The student teachers established the strong positive attitude uniformly in all
the campus interviews and got good appreciations and laurels from the employers of the
participated schools.

1. We invited the dignitaries from the Lions club Tiruchirappalli to the Citizen TrainingCamp to conduct the program on Health care, Eye check up and Women’s health.
2. The President of the Lions Club gave an inspired address on the health care of the teachersand gave suggestions and care on women’s health.

6.3.2 Teaching and Learning
1. Teaching methodologies were adopted as per the norms of Affiliated TAMILNADU
TEACHERS EDUCATION UNIVERSITY. The method of teaching through ICT, enables
students to understand the uses of Microsoft word, Excel, power point presentation values
in English and Regional language to augment in seeking their employment opportunities.
2. Seminar, Workshop, debates, colloquium and group discussion enriched the students to
become a responsible citizens in their teaching career.
6.3.3 Examination and Evaluation
1. Examinations were conducted by Tamilnadu Teachers Education University in twoaspects namely Practical and Theoretical Examination held i in February andMay/June 2014 respectively.
2. Continuous Proficiency Assessment Tests were conducted during the academicyear for the Evaluation of the student teachers & Slow learning students weremotivated through our Mentoring study system (shepherd scheme)

6.3.4 Research and Development
1. Research is an important aspect in our Teacher Education. M.Ed scholars were oriented to
comprehend the significance of educational research through seminars and colloquiums.
Topics were selected from their concrete level of perception and the related variables,
research tools were evaluated along with their standardized tools.
2. We implemented the research and development with passionate nature. Faculties were
encouraged to participate in the seminars and present the papers both at National and
International Conference. Faculties have registered for M.Phl and PhD.
6.3.5 Library, ICT and physical infrastructure / instrumentation
1. We have two Libraries for B.Ed and M.Ed automated. The student teachers and facultieswere able to access easily and make use of the ICT facilities for their academicenrichments.
2. Reference books and new journals were provided in order to ensure continuous usage ofLibrary with current knowledge.
3. Faculties were motivated to utilize the library for their publishing their papers through online.
4. Faculties and students had access to computers and Internet.5. Our infrastructures namely website- www.jjcedu.ac.in, multimedia, OHP , LCD and
educational CDS with Air conditioned conference Hall and Multi-purpose Hall wereutilized for welfare of students.

2. GOAL:
1.Yoga Classes: Yoga classes are introduced in order to establish the learning power in the midst of the
student teachers. Every student teacher should have strong perception that the yoga is the ultimate
panacea for having refined mind to accomplish the ambition to be a Competent Teacher in this
competitive world.
2. Effectiveness in class room teaching is an ideal mechanism inculcating the teaching values of the
usage on modern technologies to the prosperous student teacher to explore an effective perspective.
3. The Context
1.Yoga Classes: Yoga leads to health in the body, peace in the mind, joy in the heart and liberation ofthe soul.
2. The class room teaching with modern technologies especially with the LCD and Web based
computer aided teaching has become mandatory in all the primary, high and higher secondary schools. The
department of Education, Tamilnadu Government , has been taking effective measures ensuring the
effectiveness in class room teaching with the Activity Based Learning Methodologies, Activity Learning
Method and Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation method of learning.
4. The Practice:
1. Yoga Classes; Quality healthcare remains one of the most fundamental necessities for mankind.
Modern day lifestyles have triggered an increase in stress, new ailments and diseases. Today, while, there are
clinics and hospitals mushrooming everywhere, the need of the hour is groom well qualified and trained
personnel in yoga. Hence we are dedicated to train yoga students who are, and who will continue to be
committed to the cause of healthcare.
2. All the 300 student teachers have been trained with fluent communicative skill in teaching English
prior and after taking their intensive teaching practice. This method of teaching by the dedicated faculties

articulated not only the enthusiasm of the student teachers but also effective participation in their seminar
debate and cordial relationship among the student teachers.
5.Evidence:
1.Yoga Classes; Our B.Ed students are totally 300, comprising of 248 females and 52 males student
teachers. All the student teachers were motivated to have yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday of every week
between 3.00 pm to 4.30 p.m. Dr.T. Sivasankaran, Executive Director, J.J.Group of Institutions took special
care in shaping our B,Ed students’ academic enrichments with different ASANAS in Yoga for female and
male students.
2. Workshop on Activity based learning, Activity learning and Continuous Comprehensive
Evaluation teaching methodologies were conducted for two days on 19/08/2013 and 20/08/2013. The
resource experts Mr.P,.Sivakumar and Mr.S.Kannan were from the Tamilnadu Government High Schools.
After the workshop, the department faculties were focused on the student teachers in developing their
effective teaching competencies in the class room teaching in the schools where they are to be employed in
future.
6.Problem Encountered and Resources Required;
1. Yoga classes: With the continuous enthusiastic measures to articulate the students to comprehend the values
of yoga , the students were extensively realized the significance of yoga practices as a mandatory tool for the
enrichment of refined mind and activities in their teaching profession.
2. Effectiveness in class room teaching and Shepherd scheme of developing teaching and learning skills were
found effective since the student teachers realized the innovative technologies were meant for future teaching
profession. Activity based learning, Activity learning and Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation teaching
methodologies are the ideal teaching and learning methodologies adopting in the schools were forced to
incorporate them in their perceptive mind. Even though we had problems in the initial stage, once the
student teachers realized the practical values, they began to concentrate to acquire adequate practice and
