1 Building Construction and Renovation

A Bagh bhairab Secondary School

We have helped the BaghBhairab Secondary

School Chaughare

Lalitpur to complete the

construction of its two

room building

The school did not have enough rooms toconduct all its classes and has been

partitioning its existing classrooms to meet

its needs

This project was financially supported by the

Austrian Mountaineering Association Imst

Oberland with the community contributing a

quarter of the total estimated costs

The construction started in Jestha 2070 and

was completed on Bhadra 2070 Rs

242978 out of total of Rs 696866 spent for

this project was disbursed in the fiscal year

2070-2071 with the remaining amount

disbursed in the previous fiscal year

We have helped Guru

Lower Secondary School

Bukhel Lalitpur tocomplete the construction

of its two room building

The school did not have enough rooms to conduct all

its classes and has been partitioning its existing

classrooms to meet its needs The school also wantedto discontinue the use of chalkboards and start using

markers and white boards

This project was supported by the Small Earth

and community contributing Rs 100000

The construction started in Baisakh 2070 and

Chapagaon Lalitpur district tocomplete two rooms at the

ground floor of a two storied

building at the school

An agreement was signed between the school

and our organization in Poush 2070 and workstarted soon afterwards The construction of the

school was completed by Chaitra 2070 and the

school was handed over to the school

management committee in Baisakh 2071

A total of 862000 was spent for this project

Santi School Project USA provided 75 percent

of the total amount spent and the rest was borne

by the school and the local community

2 A Clean Slate and Installation of Drinking Water System

Several schools asked us for help improving their school environment in a different way ndash by replacing

chalkboards with markers and white boards and installing drinking water system at the school Both the

categories of project were supported by Avionte Hope Foundation of Avionte Softwares and Rising TideUSA an apparel company based in Maryland USA

5A Teacher Training

This year we completed teacher training at two centers

of Lalitpur district that covered all the public schools of

Lele and Ikudole VDCs The training focused on early

childhood development (ECD) and teaching EnglishLanguage (ELT) components each component

requiring about a week each The

In Ikudole center 17 teachers from seven schools

participated in the ECD component of the training while

13 benefitted from the ELT component of the training

ECD component was held in Mangsir 2070 and the

ELT component was held in Falgun 2070

At Lele center 15 teachers from six schools participated in the ECD component of the training

held in Ashwin 2070 while 13 teachers benefitted from ELT component of the training held in

Mangsir 2070 An interaction program was held in Baisakh 2070 to distribute certificates to allthe participating teachers and also to award prizes to three top performing trainees

5B Art Workshop

We organized art workshop at two centers ndash Lele andLamatar VDCs of Lalitpur district The workshopinvolved two days of training the teachers and theteachers in turn teaching their students Thestudents completed their artworks and submitted to

our organization and then they were evaluated by theart trainer

12 teachers from seven schools participated in theworkshop conducted at Lele whereas 18 teachersfrom seven schools participated in the one held atLamatar center The teachers were imparted various

skills related to teaching art at primary level

Ajay Deshar a young artist with extensive knowledgeand exposure about art was the resource person for the training

An interaction program was held to discuss the effectiveness of the program and to announcethe winners of the inter school art competition in each center in Baisakh 2071

These workshops and its related programs were financially supported by Al Diyafah HighSchool Dubai UAE through the initiative of Mahesh Sajnani Community Outreach Coordinator

6 Volunteers

We have mobilized five volunteers (two international and three national) at four different schools

in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts The volunteers stayed with a host family near the school

they were placed at and worked in close coordination with the school administration to take

classes and organize extra-curricular activities among other things

Troels Bastrup from Denmark stayed for three months at Devi Lower Secondary School Nallu

Lalitpur district from Magh to Chaitra 2070

Liz Margereson from England volunteered for a month at Basuki Secondary School Lamatar

Lalitpur district in Magh 2070 Pranav Man Shrestha from Nepal also contributed his time at the

school for a month in Shrawan 2070

Chandan Mishra from Nepal volunteered at Shringery Secondary School Lamatar VDC Lalitpur

district for a month in Shrawan 2070

Arjab Dhakal from Nepal volunteered at Jana Sewa Higher Secondary School Kirtipur

5A Teacher Training

This year we completed teacher training at two centers

of Lalitpur district that covered all the public schools of

Lele and Ikudole VDCs The training focused on early

childhood development (ECD) and teaching EnglishLanguage (ELT) components each component

requiring about a week each The

In Ikudole center 17 teachers from seven schools

participated in the ECD component of the training while

13 benefitted from the ELT component of the training

ECD component was held in Mangsir 2070 and the

ELT component was held in Falgun 2070

At Lele center 15 teachers from six schools participated in the ECD component of the training

held in Ashwin 2070 while 13 teachers benefitted from ELT component of the training held in

Mangsir 2070 An interaction program was held in Baisakh 2070 to distribute certificates to allthe participating teachers and also to award prizes to three top performing trainees

5B Art Workshop

We organized art workshop at two centers ndash Lele andLamatar VDCs of Lalitpur district The workshopinvolved two days of training the teachers and theteachers in turn teaching their students Thestudents completed their artworks and submitted to

our organization and then they were evaluated by theart trainer

12 teachers from seven schools participated in theworkshop conducted at Lele whereas 18 teachersfrom seven schools participated in the one held atLamatar center The teachers were imparted various

skills related to teaching art at primary level

Ajay Deshar a young artist with extensive knowledgeand exposure about art was the resource person for the training

An interaction program was held to discuss the effectiveness of the program and to announcethe winners of the inter school art competition in each center in Baisakh 2071

These workshops and its related programs were financially supported by Al Diyafah HighSchool Dubai UAE through the initiative of Mahesh Sajnani Community Outreach Coordinator

6 Volunteers

We have mobilized five volunteers (two international and three national) at four different schools

in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts The volunteers stayed with a host family near the school

they were placed at and worked in close coordination with the school administration to take

classes and organize extra-curricular activities among other things

Troels Bastrup from Denmark stayed for three months at Devi Lower Secondary School Nallu

Lalitpur district from Magh to Chaitra 2070

Liz Margereson from England volunteered for a month at Basuki Secondary School Lamatar

Lalitpur district in Magh 2070 Pranav Man Shrestha from Nepal also contributed his time at the

school for a month in Shrawan 2070

5A Teacher Training

This year we completed teacher training at two centers

of Lalitpur district that covered all the public schools of

Lele and Ikudole VDCs The training focused on early

childhood development (ECD) and teaching EnglishLanguage (ELT) components each component

requiring about a week each The

In Ikudole center 17 teachers from seven schools

participated in the ECD component of the training while

13 benefitted from the ELT component of the training

ECD component was held in Mangsir 2070 and the

ELT component was held in Falgun 2070

At Lele center 15 teachers from six schools participated in the ECD component of the training

held in Ashwin 2070 while 13 teachers benefitted from ELT component of the training held in

Mangsir 2070 An interaction program was held in Baisakh 2070 to distribute certificates to allthe participating teachers and also to award prizes to three top performing trainees

5B Art Workshop

We organized art workshop at two centers ndash Lele andLamatar VDCs of Lalitpur district The workshopinvolved two days of training the teachers and theteachers in turn teaching their students Thestudents completed their artworks and submitted to

our organization and then they were evaluated by theart trainer

12 teachers from seven schools participated in theworkshop conducted at Lele whereas 18 teachersfrom seven schools participated in the one held atLamatar center The teachers were imparted various

skills related to teaching art at primary level

Ajay Deshar a young artist with extensive knowledgeand exposure about art was the resource person for the training

An interaction program was held to discuss the effectiveness of the program and to announcethe winners of the inter school art competition in each center in Baisakh 2071

These workshops and its related programs were financially supported by Al Diyafah HighSchool Dubai UAE through the initiative of Mahesh Sajnani Community Outreach Coordinator

6 Volunteers

We have mobilized five volunteers (two international and three national) at four different schools

in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts The volunteers stayed with a host family near the school

they were placed at and worked in close coordination with the school administration to take

classes and organize extra-curricular activities among other things

Liz Margereson from England volunteered for a month at Basuki Secondary School Lamatar

Several schools asked us for help improving their school environment in a different way ndash by replacing

chalkboards with markers and white boards and installing drinking water system at the school Both the

5A Teacher Training

This year we completed teacher training at two centers

of Lalitpur district that covered all the public schools of

Lele and Ikudole VDCs The training focused on early

childhood development (ECD) and teaching EnglishLanguage (ELT) components each component

requiring about a week each The

In Ikudole center 17 teachers from seven schools

participated in the ECD component of the training while

13 benefitted from the ELT component of the training

ECD component was held in Mangsir 2070 and the

ELT component was held in Falgun 2070

At Lele center 15 teachers from six schools participated in the ECD component of the training

held in Ashwin 2070 while 13 teachers benefitted from ELT component of the training held in

Mangsir 2070 An interaction program was held in Baisakh 2070 to distribute certificates to allthe participating teachers and also to award prizes to three top performing trainees

5B Art Workshop

We organized art workshop at two centers ndash Lele andLamatar VDCs of Lalitpur district The workshopinvolved two days of training the teachers and theteachers in turn teaching their students Thestudents completed their artworks and submitted to

our organization and then they were evaluated by theart trainer

12 teachers from seven schools participated in theworkshop conducted at Lele whereas 18 teachersfrom seven schools participated in the one held atLamatar center The teachers were imparted various

skills related to teaching art at primary level

Ajay Deshar a young artist with extensive knowledgeand exposure about art was the resource person for the training

An interaction program was held to discuss the effectiveness of the program and to announcethe winners of the inter school art competition in each center in Baisakh 2071

These workshops and its related programs were financially supported by Al Diyafah HighSchool Dubai UAE through the initiative of Mahesh Sajnani Community Outreach Coordinator
