Annual Memorial Mass is Wednesday November 6, at 7pm Our Christ the Servant Parish Annual Memorial Mass, espe-cially remembering those who died recently and this past year, will be held Wednesday Nov. 6, at 7:00 p.m. A reception will follow in Seton Hall. Everyone is encouraged to attend, to re-

member those who have gone before us.

We will remember these individuals with a lit candle brought forth by a family member. All are welcome at this Mass re-membering the lives of those who have shared in our community. However the names of those who have completed their earthly journey this year will be remembered by name at this Mass.

I, John, saw a new heaven and a new earth. I heard a loud voice cry out: “This is God’s dwelling among the people of the earth. God will live with them and they will be his people, and he will be their God who will be with them always. God will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning, crying out or pain, for the former world has passed away.” Then God said “See, I make all things new.”

We continue to do very well with our food drive. This week we collected 396 lbs. of food, 170 lbs. of clothing and 34 lbs. of toiletries. That brought our total to 600 lbs. Catholic Charities will be very happy when we deliver to them this week. Thanks to all of you for being such faithful supporters of this ministry. We couldn't do it without you.

Sock-it-to-me Sunday / Thank you

You donated 1,600 pair of socks . . .

Here at Christ the Servant we have a

grief group that meets on Sunday af-

ternoons from 2 to 3:30. What is it

like attending a grief group? First, it

is not a crying session. We start out

with a prayer and then a scripture

reading encouraging participants with a lesson from Jesus

about loss instead of focusing on the topic of grief. It is an

opportunity to share experiences, if so desired, and to hear

how others are dealing with their loss. One of the greatest

benefits that I see is that the members of the group have

become friends and do things together outside of the meet-

ings. Deacon Tom

This week our parish will take a collection to benefit the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, a triennial collection approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Please prayerfully consider a contribution to this special collection to support ac-tive-duty military men and women, and their families – including those from our own parish.
