- 1. Conflict of Interest A conflict of interest exists when you have a professional obligation to UT Southwestern Medical Center that might be compromised by the pursuit of outside interests

- Personal Financial Interests
- Acceptance of Gifts from Third Parties
- 3.
- The Texas Legislature has adopted the following standards of conduct for state employees
- A state employee should not:

- Accept or solicit any gift, favor, or service that might reasonably appear to influence the employee while performing their official duties
- Gifts can include food, tickets to entertainment activities, expenses for a trip, or payment for educational purposes
- 5.
- Accept other employment or engage in a business/professional activity that would require or induce the employee to disclose UT Southwesterns confidential information during the course of this employment or engagement
- 6.
- Accept other outside or dual employment or compensation that could reasonably be expected to impair the employees independence of judgment in the performance of the employees UT Southwestern duties
- 7.
- Make personal investments that could reasonably create a substantial conflict between the employees private interest and your public interest
- 8.
- Intentionally or knowingly solicit, accept or agree to accept any benefit for performing your UT Southwestern duties in favor of another
- 9.
- How has UT Southwestern Medical Center followed the State guidance?
- 10.
- Implementation of a UT Southwestern Medical Center policy, Relationship of UT Southwestern Facility, Trainees and Staff with Those Who Provide Biomedical, Scientific, or Pharmaceutical Goods or Services Policy; and revision of the University Hospital Vendor/Service Representatives policy, # 3-450
